Monthly Vow 12th of October To The 12th Of November

 So the next one November to December will be longer, I think about 20th of December so just under a week longer, the pinks are getting released in 2 weeks and I'll be using those on the tanks and heavy weapon Centaurs. After reading some of the source material I need to check the kanji for kangaroo 袋鼠, I also need my glasses so I can see that as I write this, which will be the name of the Centaur. After getting my glasses, that's going to be fun to try and paint. 

And so I don't forget and start something else November to December is the Storm Lord and The Boogers. 

My army also calls for some Tempestus Scions and some Valkyries. Let's just say that's probably a 2027 project, before I start on the Exodites. 

Okay so the plan for this month, finishing the tanks, all 3 Rogal Dorns, the Leman Russ and the 2 Centaurs, the rider squads and the command squad. 

Review Time 

Work has been a monster this period, and will be until pretty much Christmas so small steps.

I finished these off with a Mirky Mire wash, just need names for the 3 of them, just the weapons left to go, I just need to find the blue wash for them or maybe Nuln oil...

I'd had these guys in my house for a while not touched so looking at another week of sleep late, sleep, late I broke the cycle with the Lego mini figures.

Over the course of the month I'd thought about next year's Exodites project and was wondering if I could do something similar to the Wraith Lords I did a few years ago with Wraith Guard and Wraith Blades.

So I grabbed a single Wraith Guard and some Kurnoth Hunters bits and a box of them for later, and put this one together. I think it will work with more time applied as this was just a rough up.

I'm still down 1 Rogal Dorn in this picture, I got everything out to try and see where I was up to.

I got the dazzle Centaur done and gave it a wash with the watered down Ratling Grime and was very happy with the outcome. Again it's just the wash on the tracks and bogies that needs doing.

Then there was the preview show with those excellent Orlock Ogryns. Literally cannot wait until I get my hands on those guys, while I wait I got this old relic out of deep storage and, frankly, used him as a test piece for the army "uniform", I also gave the base some of the desert sand basing material I have. I honestly can't wait to get my hands on these Necromunda guys, I'd even pay full retail. 

I made a start on the 30 tank riders getting the pink horror on trousers and other bits. 

My larger Tiberos had some progress, added some green stuff to the leg and the 0.5 mil ball bearings pushed in as bonding studs. Fiddly little things. Plan is to paint him with the Power and Water section of this army as both will be mostly grey. 

I picked up some blue black paint from AK interactive, which is kind of close to Corax black looking at it and used it on my "regular Commissar". I borrowed some arms from the command squad sprue to give this one a plasma pistol and power sword. I still need to finish the arms and weapons off. 

These still need a wash plan A is Mirky Mire, thinned a little bit, then it's weapons, hair and matching base rims so I can see at a glance which Centaur they've jumped out of...

The first squad is coming on, I still need to find the blue wash for the weapons, and plan a is to get the Mirky Mire wash on the them tonight.

Just needs a wash on the base, the highlight on the Gangers shirts and 1 mohawk to paint. Only other colours I have are Thousand Sons Blue and Tau Ocher, think I'll go blue on the mohawk

Got the blue done, last thing on these is a wash on the base, I feel like Mirky Mire is going to be too dark so will have to wait for tomorrow and some agrax earthshade 

 

The run into Christmas is looking rather hostile to hobby time, and I say this as my assistant has handed in rotas unto January the 2nd.

I mean I'm looking at Friday being the first chance I have to get to Wigan to pick up the cards I ordered for the Space Marine. I passed the Codex over to my daughters to buy as a Christmas present but there's very little chance I'm going to get a battle in with the Astartes first as I want to Tea Drinking Divisione sorted first and see how badly I can fail with them before I get some cerimite out again.

So over the last few nights I've had the 30 tank riders out for painting.

My aim had been to at least get boots, jackets and pants done on them before Sunday. So that didn't work out.

I got the pink pants done on all 30 minis then yer another late finish yesterday left me organising back into squads and packing paints for tonight. 

I did get some pink on this version of Greaves and a pink layer on the trim of the coat and I'd bought a blue black paint I'm planning to use on the coat tonight to see how that goes. In game terms this is a basic Commissar, so need to check what weapons they can have and root for suitable arms for her. 

I am rather annoyed at myself as I left the pink for the trim and brown for the boots at home, this is now on hold until I can find the bits bag for the arms I need or plunder the command squad sprue and take what's needed to finish this Commissar.

Oh and with the new paints coming out next week I'm hoping to grab the pinks when I'm able to get the tanks finished and probably the Karskin greens for the Dark Angels. Need to check days off and start times for the next 2 weeks.
