Redemptor Dreadnought

First dread post in a while, and a vow broken.


This Dread is a pleasure to build, I was worried it would be a confusing bugger to build but I'm glad to report that it's a great kit. The guns on the hands are a good fit, I chose not to fit the pipe adapter into the fist so I can swop between the heavy flamer and onslaught gatling cannon.


The body is nice and those flat plates offer the potential for some nice conversion work, or free hand if you feel your painting is up to that.

The legs offer lots of posing potential.

And both BFG 's are fully interchangeable, but not sure if magnets will be needed.
I ran out of glue on the assembly last night, so had to leave Fat Albert unfinished, I'm also planning a second one for the Lion's Blades, and someone was asking if it could be made into a Furioso Dreadnought, which is could be, but you'd need to kits, and a I'm sure a Mortis pattern of thus would be a brown pants moment.

Monthly Vow 12th Of August To The 12th Of September

With the plan being somewhat vague this month I can't actually decide if I've done it or failed.



I started off the month with the brothers Squishy and the Interceptors of Squad 2.

I then polished off the second set from the Dark Imperium box set






At which point the Codex and other stuff came out, and I had to wait for a week for stuff to arrive.




I used the 2 of the 3 Intercessors as alternative Sgts for the Hounds and the 3rd as a paint test for any future Lion's Blades Primaris Astartes I do.
And lastly there's the . . . gorram Primaris Librarian


Those pipes around the arms will break off at some point, and the legs are a fun fit but it does look good.

So on to next month, what's the plan? Well I need the fat Albert dreadnought done for the end of September and I'm thinking of buying the Chaplian and a box of Hellblasters , half for The Lion's Blades and the others for the Hounds, could do with some more paint, which is a trip to either Preston or Manchester and hopefully with my 2 days off next week I can pick up a plastic Contemptor off a mate, watch Atomic Blonde and anything else I need to get done.

That Required A Bit More Effort Than I Expected To Put In

I started to assemble the Primaris Librarian last night, I'm not to sure if I got a leg wrong or not but the leg/groin/robe piece was leaving massive gaps in the robe seams to the rest of the body. It took a large amount of filing on the legs and inside of the robes to get it to fit together, and it doesn't look great now it's glued in place.

I'm painting this for the Hounds but he was a former Mentors Chapter Librarian.

Reavors

Not a big fan of the easy build Reavors, there's a few body gaps on them.

Though they do look good when built.


I've built these 2 as alternative Sgts for a Reavor squad and an Intercessor Squad, these 2 are former Nemesis Chapter Sgts.

This one is a former Mentors Chapter Sgt.
It turned out I've left my cutters at home so can't cut the lugs off the shoulders to glue the arms in place, so will do that tonight , I'm also starting the Librarian tonight as well.
