Forge World Bulletin 29/02/16

MELT THROUGH THE OPPOSITION!

Last week I was talking about big guns and showed you some new Space Marine weapons that’ll be on their way soon from the Forge World Studio. Apparently those guns, mighty as they are, just weren’t big enough.

The Cyclonic Melta Lance is a new weapon for the Leviathan Dreadnought that’ll be causing havoc on the battlefield soon. It’s a supercharged multi-melta that fires in bursts that will annihilate even the heaviest armour plating. The Cyclonic Melta Lance is a new weapon for the Leviathan Dreadnought that’ll be causing havoc on the battlefield soon. It’s a supercharged multi-melta that fires in bursts that will annihilate even the heaviest armour plating.

This immense war machine is carrying a gun bigger than most Titan weapons!

That’s all from me for now. Make sure you check back soon for more from the Forge World Studio

Busy Weekend.

Tied up some loose ends this weekend, finished off the last rider for my chop shop Skyweavers,

Went for a dynamic action pose with this guy.

Just don't look to closely at the other left arm...
I'd had to fix this one after the trip to Warhammer World.

Glued the body back on and added a new head which was painted up last night.

Made a start on my counts as Shadow Spectors by base coating the Death Jesters with ushabati bone then an oxide wash and left them to dry.
And lastly started on Cross Bones the latest addition to my 1st Company dreads.

I got to this stage and thought it was okay but I wanted to add something to it so went a bit daft trying various swords out on the front plate, mostly to hide that great big drop of blood, but none of them really worked.

So at a suggestion I tried the company veteran Combat Shield.

And after triming the arm off it looked fine.

So I'm now left with the Spirit Walkers to get made up for Telvig and The Dread Filled Month and I've made a start on the counts as Shadow Spectors but need a hammer and some goggles before I go any further as I'm breaking some slate up for those.

Good job I buy my green stuff in 3ft strips from the Troll Trader.

Cross Bones, 1st Company Dreadnought

I polished off my 3rd Dreadnought for my 1st Company, The Harth Guard,

This was a mix of the chassis from the Space Wolf Venerable and the front from the Blood Angel Furioso.

I picked out the wings and tried a sword on the front with red paint.

Going to dig out some skeleton legs and cross them on the right shoulder, to match the crosses elsewhere on the Dreadnought.

Timberwolf Re-worked and 2nd Death Company Dreadnought

The re-work of Timberwolf and the 2nd Death Company dreadnought got finished last night.

That'll teach me to tidy the photo album up before I post, I only had a hand, arm and 3 flamers to paint for Timberwolf and the hands and claws for the Death Company dread.
Base coated both sets that needed doing, reds on the Death Company and Ushabati Bone on Timberwolf, both got a nuln oil wash.
I picked out the skulls on these claws for a different look than the first.

Timberwolf has the Bjórn claw on his left hand, I noticed the claw was put together wrong, and I magnetised the flamer and put a standard hand on the right arm and the 2 flamers.

The Death Company Dreadnought has the claws blu tacked on and has ended up with 2 flamers.

The Reason For The Change To Green

Once again the question was raised about why GW changed the colour of the Dark Angels from black to green, so I asked about it in the Oldhammer group on Facebook as some of the old staff from GW are members, and got a few answers as always.

Back To My Stuff

That was a fun filled weekend for GW products! But now back to the regular content;

The 3 Dreads parts that I have lined up next, Murder Fangs Claws and hands on the Death Company Dreadnought, I've also packed the second set and intend to add some blood for the blood god to both sets when painted

Next up is the second hand for Timberwolf and a lot of flamers, these I plan to magnetise as that will make transport safer, the second photo shows how I plan to position the twin linked heavy flamers, I'm going to swop the claw to the other arm and and give that hand some basic fingers.

This one will have the Pups weapon arm that I gave already painted on the other side so I can swop out the cannon, multi melta and frost cannon which I'll either use as twin linked las or more likely a plasma cannon.

And lastly as a change from dreads, and as I dug out both Exodite and the Harlequins box and did some photos to share with the Outcast Eldar group on Facebook, I have these chaps spare, I intend to move them from the Harlequin army to the Exodite Army, after I swop out one of the Jesters and buy the new one again. I plan to run this squad as counts as Shadow Spectors after some conversion work like adding height to the bases for starters and a paint job more in keeping with the Spector Aspect and if I take a couple of the gunners off the Raiders I can run this squad at full strength of 10, just need the new edition rules for them ...

Forge World Bulletin 22 / 02/ 16

New bulletin has gone live lots of big guns.
Monday 22 February 2016
INCREASED FIREPOWER!

Who doesn’t like big guns? Tyranids maybe, or any xeno menace facing an armoured column of the Astra Militarum. But who on the right side of the Imperium doesn’t like big guns?

The Forge World Studio have been hard at work designing new patterns of heavy weapons to join the Space Marine Legion armouries. Take a look…

These underslung heavy weapons were produced on forge worlds from across known space, many lost since the dark days of the Horus Heresy. Some of the weapons are more akin to those in use by Imperial and Chaos forces in the 41st millennium than those regularly seen in use during the Great Crusade.

That’s all from me for now. Make sure you check back soon for more from the Forge World Studio

Shiny Gene Stealer Cult

White dwarf is out and people have seen the Deathwatch, well here's the one I was looking forward to; The Gene Stealer Cultists!
These do look cool.
No I don't want to start another army.
Edit to add the Patriarch or Brood Lord

DOMINATE THE BATTLEFIELD!

+++Advance+++Accelerate+++Impact+++Crush+++Repeat+++

The Domitar Battle-automata is a complex construct designed by the Mechanicum for a simple purpose; advancing on the enemy at speed, crashing into them with destructive force, raining down crushing blows until they are utterly destroyed, and then quickly identifying next target.

The Mechanicum Domitar Battle-automata is available to order today. Not only can you add the bone-crunching force of the Domitar to your army, but we’ve made it easy for you to add whole units of them with the Domitar Class Battle-automata Maniple, made up of three Domitar Battle-automata.

Sun's Out, Dreads Out

Spent another productive night painting dreads last night, I took the 2 metal Venerable to touch them up as a couple of bits were missing and with the extras now knocking about I was able to get the missing bits finished.

The Chaplin dread just got a single leg plate added.

The Not a Warden in White got 2 shin guards added.

I also painted black over the paldrons of the last 3 Glorious 1000 turning them onto Black Shields.

While I was putting them away I had the boxes out so I got both groups done quickly. The Knights of Blood have one more being worked on that will be another Death Company dread.

All 3 of the metal venerables, The Eternal Guard of The Lion's Blades, Librarian Furiosi dreasnought Mydryn of The Knights of Blood and lastly Chaplin Sephiroth.

All of the Lion's Blades Dreads.

3 Third Company dreads.

Wrecked dread made from a Blackreach dread.

3 First Company dreads.

Chaplin and 2 Contemptors.

And lastly 4 Space Crusade Dreads.
