New Addition

I bought this relic from Forge World the other day on ebay and it arrived yesterday while I was at work.

For an older mini there is some amazing detail on it.

Orginal plan was to repaint it black and use it to lead the other Mortis mk4s. I saw the photo my oldest sent me of it and decided against that. Looking at it this morning I changed my mind to swop the Assault cannon for a Kheres assault cannon.

Was it worth the £70 plus p&p? Calling it a commission is piece helps.

The Warden In White, Reborn

The Lion's Blades Warden of Rights, The Last Vote , basically all Masters in the Chapter stand before him for selection, if they fail in his estimation they are never seen again. The Lion's Blades took their Chapter icon of the bracketed sword, similar in form to the Crusade era icon, from the plate on his arm. The legend amongst the Chapter is that the orginal pilot was a senior Astartes from the Legion, he guided the Chapter for 4,000 years before he passed away, the rumor says that he'd selected his replacement from within the Chapter, someone who was well versed in the chapters lore, legends and rites, he has been seen recently stalking the halls , listening to current lore and legends, master and marine alike are unsure if he is ensuring continuity or assessing the value of the Primaris Astartes.

Picked Clean

After giving the metal venerable dreadnought a bath and brush, I gave it a go over with a file to get the any remaining glue and paint flakes off it.
I did try an alternative plate on the chest but decided that the orginal plate was better.
I don't know where the cover on the back of the hand has got to, and when I cleaned it I forgot to take the plastic part I was going to use off, and it melted, so I had to use something else, I filed the spacer off the back of the groin plate, and green stuffed it onto the hand. I then green stuffed the chapter badge onto the plate.
And this one is for Dread Tober hopefully, it's part of the stretch goal, for the pre Heresy, pre Logar Emperor’s Heralds, I've used a couple of the Death Guard bits as scrolls as well as a few Dark Angels bits to imply Imperial Edicts, I removed the head and added a Death Guard head that was tidied up and kind of looks like a speaker grill.

Grandfather Dreadnought?

One of the things I've enjoyed doing over the years is finding the DNA of 40k, like the 2000AD stuff that is a major part and all the other bits and pieces, and so to the question:
Are Huwey and Co the inspiration for the Casterferrum class?

Retro

Was rooting through a box looking for a bike rider I know I have and found my ancient assassin and a couple of others that are going into my Guard Army that always seems to get pushed back. Mystic Libby fom Hasslefree Miniatures with a chain sword rather than a force sword as I plan to use her as my priest and a conversion of the Forge World Tallaren Tank commander to give him feet, not sure what I plan to use him as.

At Least I Didn't Collapse The Universe

This took a couple of hours to set up and dismantle and I took so long several of the Dreads fainted and a couple have  broken ankles so not everything is upright.
There's 69 dreads on the board and not much room for many more.
There's been suggestions that I take this and progress to a company's worth of Dreadnoughts , which I've, frankly, balked at and that's not just because I've made a vow to not buy any dreads this year, but there's storage issues as well.

Finished Off Both Oldhammer Dreads

Yesterday I got both dreads finished, The Hounds Aggressor conversion and the Chaos helbrute version .

The Stumpy Aggressor, the Longshanks Sgt arrived yesterday morning which was a surprise as I'd only bought it the day before, I think I'll wait till I get the other one before I start the next 2.

And the RT Chaos helbrute. I had ment to get a better light photo today but I was too busy getting stabbed in the back by a moron at work and then way too tired. After getting this guy finished I do like how it looks l, just thinking in the December / January quite time do I re paint the chaos dreads into Word barers colours?

And a 2nd ed push fit plastic test piece I did as well.

Oldhammer Time

And Bandwagon Ho! Part 4.

At the big game we had down at Warhammer World, the guy that drove had a Space Wolf army and included the Forge World Leman Russ. As a joke while I was looking on ebay for something else I can across the orginal metal Leman Russ and though I'll get him that.

For some unknown reason it had been painted in Legion Of The Damned colours, an overnight soak and some tooth brush action had most of the paint off and some time with a needle file got the majority of it clean.

Bandwagon time, so I took some time to make it look less like an Ultra smurf.

Last night as well as the base I added some green stuff to a couple of plates to make it a couple look more sword like.

I also added the Wolf skull from the Dreadnought shield that comes in the Space Wolf Venerable kit as at this scale there not much difference between a Wolf and a Lion's skull.

Finishing Touches

I've sorted out my dreadnought army that I'm taking to Warhammer World on Saturday and will post photos of it tomorrow.
For today I've polished off the Space Wolf Discipline Corps Centurion Dreadnought, torn between calling it Edsluentain (allegedly the viking that founded the village where I grew up, and translates as the Happy Wolf) or Tostig ( Tostig was actually a Saxon Prince and brother of "that" Harold who lost the Battle Of Hastings)

And did some detailing on The Wolf That Stalks The Stars of The Thousand Sons Legion.

Oldhammer Time

Oldhammer time, sort of finished this section of Dreadnoughts, at least for now.

3 Abomination class that are on the schedule for next year to get an upgrade to Deredo class.
3 Malevolent class dreads that are armed as standard Casterferrum Mortis Dreadnoughts.

And the 2 major chaos conversions I did on one of each.

Poor Night At Work

Out of no where came the 4th long legged Space Crusade Dreadnought, this is solely for the legs and there will be photographs later of all those Dreads together.

Next up was the Wayne England inspired Thousand Sons pre Magnus colours Dreadnought, not Bjórn the Fell Handed. Honest.
