The Predator.

 

Plan A is to keep this as close to this shade as possible, will be digging out a dark purple and the Fang and mixing together for low lights, with a top layer of Fang

I'm planning on magnetising the side weapons for choice, not sure if I want to use the Vulkite cannons or save those and try to make a dreadnought weapon out of them.

My plan is to get the side mounts finished Monday and find some of the magnets I have in my house, glue those on the bottom and use the sight to pin in place from the top.

The neutron laser and exhausts have been given a base of balthazr gold and a reikland fleshwash already, I was just finishing the squad before I moved on with this one.

I dug out some burgundy and mixed it with the Fang at a 2 blobs Fang to 1 blob burgundy to get a close match to how it looked after the wash with crimson.

I used a basic edge highlight of Fang. 

I finished basing the last of the Berzerkers and the plan is to get a good photo of the whole army tomorrow while I'm off and also check on the exodite army I did years ago. 

World Eaters Berzerkers

 

Was working on these last night,, mostly on the brass, with the reikland flesh wash. I also tried a couple of the arms with wraith bone and a couple with screaming skull, and decided to go with a wraith bone top layer. 

The blue was done last thing before bed, with a coat of macragg blue. This morning I gave the blue an agrax earthshade wash. 

A shopping trip to let it dry and then a half and half mix of macragg and Calgar blue as a highlight. 

When the Silverstone Sprint Race was on I got the screaming skull layer on the Berzerkers. I got them finished with the dissection of the race and had a couple of hours on the sofa with the cat, before packing up and getting ready for work with the plan to finish the wraith bone layer at work.

After I kicked everyone out at work, I had something to eat and got the wraith bone layer on them. 

The plan here is to divide this lot between the 3 squads of Berzerkers, and the main infantry of this army.

This just leaves the Predator to do. 

The Finish line is in sight for this.

 

Last squad is another 10 Berzerkers this time in classic world eaters colours and then shared around the 3 Berzerker Squads 

So tonight saw me getting the ushabati bone base coat on everything. 

I then went over that with the Dark Star Mirky Mire wash, trying to leave holsters and pouches, bare arms and heads so I could use the contrast flesh tone on them. 

Plan A for tomorrow is brass trim and reikland flesh wash, with depending on times, highlighting with brass scorpion and then screaming skull most of the armour and I've just remembered that classic World Eaters have blue shoulders. So it's macragg blue before brass trim tomorrow, with screaming skull and wraith bone layers on Saturday night. 

Once this squad & the Predator are done where does this army go? 

Firstly I need a full photo of this army. 

Plan for this is probably Friday next week. 

Well there's another Havoc squad I've got ready to go but not worried about that yet. 

Those Forge Fiend weapons look too good to waste so I'm thinking of using one of the Redemptor dreads as a base for that.

A second box of Jakhals to make them wolfie

I also want the new Defiler to tower over the army. 

The last re-enforcements that I can think of are the new Chaos bikes and DOOM RIDER!

If anything really tasty gets added with the World Eaters codex or Chaos Codex expect me to add that but with zero rumors in the mill beyond bikes I can safely wait. 

Oh yes and the Dino Riding Exodites, I will be getting some, the nebulos plan is to go halves in the box with Jack who has the beast Snaggers army, but if he's not got the money/ doesn't want to I'll just have to wait and get the individual box when that gets released, at least boxes, probably 3 for the 3 characters and a squad of 6 Dragon Knights. Should also check that army, will plan that for Friday as well. 

Any chaos and Eldar Exodites, if they arrive soon enough, will be around the tanks when I want a break from paint dazzle camo. 

The Mauler Fiend

 

I've spent a few days and ignored it for a week when it was too damn hot. 

I got the Fang base coat on it and balthazr gold on the brass, Fang got the crimson wash and reikland fleshwash on the gold.

Then I got the Russ Grey over the Fang and brass scorpion over the gold, the steel areas had a base coat of iron warrior and a reikland fleshwash then a leadbleacher highlight. 

I've spent the time I've been working on it trying to work out why it looked vaguely familiar and I realised it's the big blue mimic from Live, Die, Repeat that gives Tom Cruise the reset ability. 

Progress On The Mauler Fiend

 Sat in Cafe Nero in Preston before work and grabbed a photo of what I'd done yesterday on the Mauler Fiend.

Base coat of Fang and a wash of Carroburg Crimson on the panels with ushabati bone on the flesh and contrast flesh wash over those areas. I'm making a lot of work for myself with the trim by starting with a balthazr gold base coat, the other metal areas got a coat of iron warrior and everything got hit with a reikland flesh wash. 

I hope to get some work done on this tonight after I kick everyone else out. 

11th Ed Plans And A Mauler Fiend

 

That kit goes together so well, going to be a right bitch to paint though, certainly wish I'd sprayed it black on the sprue. 

The last squad of Berzerkers is also built, but no need for another photo of grey plastic Berzerkers. 

This last squad I'm thinking of doing most in World Eaters colours, and then rearrange the squads for a mix of white and grey.

With the points being out already I've started redoing lists, starting with The Lion's Blades 2nd Company as that's the first one I'm using against my mates speed warrgh.

The following lists are at the very least firmly crooked

Right now there's a Dark Talon/ Nephilm still new on sprue. This, dispute being my first 11th Edition game, is on hold, I really want to add another 6 bikes, hoping for multi part outriders, then 2 Ravenwing Black Knights if they get ported over to Primaris, a bike Commander squad if that gets done, and then support, that's 1 ATV to even the numbers up and 4 Land Speeders, hopefully either attached to 4 bike squadrons of 3 in 2 squadrons of 2, Astartes Codex, Dark Angels suppliment and hopefully the rumoured Ravenwing box set is a good kick start and has wedge of what I want.

Björn The Betrayer project will  get some bikers added, Jade Talons lead by Doom Rider if rumors are true, put some aside for a box if that happens, fairly sure both of these are 2027 plans.

Terra Australis Chi Visionem Faciens 

Everything is bought, as the Avenger Strike Fighter is in the points list I've added that to my plan, along with 2 Vendetts or Valkyries.

Genestealer Cult and Power and Water 

The plan is still to build the combat patrols as one blended army, pretty sure this is a 4th quarter project and hopefully there's been a preview show with a road map of what's coming so an inked in plan can be made rather than just tough.

The Björn The Fell Handed Brutalis Dread is still a plan and I ordered some armour bits for the redemptor dread with a Dark Angels theme, so look out for that as well. 

Brass

 I got the brass on and reikland flesh washed last night.

Todays plan is pick up the last Hatchette package when I get home and start putting the last 2 core parts of the army together, with the hope of getting all the Berzerkers and mauler fiend finished over the weekend and start on the Predator as well. 

Berzerkers And Predator

 While at work yesterday I got an email from evri letting me know that the last package was on its way, so I got it diverted to the local post office.

Just checked again and it's in the {sarcasm} safest of safe hands that's evri.{ /end sarcasm} So that plan A for this weekend sorted, build the Mauler Fiend and Berzerkers and make a start on painting them 

So I didn't get any brass done yesterday on the Berzerkers. I guess I'll have to do that tonight.

The Predator

 I'd built the Predator over the weekend, along with all the weapon options. Out of all the options I like the neutron laser the most so I'm going with that, the sponson weapon will probably be the Las cannons, there's heavy bolter and vulkite options. I did want to use the vulkite but I'm not sure. I'm thinking magnets here, but it's only every going on the table in a friendly game so it's not an issue really and I did want to mount the vulkite on a Casterferum dread..

Painting plan for this is a low light of Fang, minor highlights of Russ, brass over balthazr gold on some areas and the usual iron warrior, nuln oil, lead bleachers and try to keep it as dark as possible.

The other squad in the Hatchette package was 10 Berzerkers, plan A is to build them Saturday the 6th along with the Victrix Honour Guard, paint the squad of 4 first and get the Berzerkers finished in the week, start the Predator Tank, finish the Commissar Greaves Centaur build and then either wait for the last of the Hatchette packages or fingers crossed it should be here, last one was picked up March 29th so fingers crossed I can get these finished before July the 12th and I'm able to start The Terra Australis Chi Visionem 

Plan 

Build the Predator and the last package for this army, the mauler fiend and the last Berzerker squad. 

Paint 20 Berzerkers, Mauler Fiend and Predator, then move forward with the Terra Australis Chi Visionem Battalion. 

Review Time. 

The Defiler {old}. 

Okay for it's age is an amazing kit. 

The joints and articulation are superb and I thought going in I'd hate it as much as it is ugly, but honestly having now built one I love it even more than how ugly it is. 

The Obliteraters. 

Not going lie, these Rat Ogers are wrong minis for this but as they were cheap in the Age Of Sigma part work it was a bargain and a fun challenge to make.

They definitely look much better with the Thunder Wolf heads on the shoulders. 

This one will be built for my counts as Commissar Greaves, the foot up version that I'm going to start next week. But I just wanted to see it next to the Russ.

And the Commissar Greaves on foot, careful, she'll have someone's eye out with those. The plan here is to paint both versions together, I'm just hoping to get the Björn The Betrayer project finished first.

Lord on Juggernaut 

The lord on Juggernaut. 

I tried something a little different on the brass with this one by giving those areas a base of balthzar gold, the reikland flesh wash and then a brass scorpion layer, which I think works well with the colours of the mini. I'll probably do this again on the mauler fiend and Predator Tank.

The Jakhals 

I put these together on Sunday and moved forward with painting in the week. 

The dawn stone grey and wraith bone bases worked well, the moot green needing salvaging with a dry brush of bugmans glow, everything else was the usual steps. 

The Ultramarine Veterans. 

I put these together on Saturday night, slightly strained process as they'd come from ebay without instructions.

Again the plan with these is to run them as a Veteran Squad in the Betrayer army, I've got the Tigirus mini as well, so I'm adding that in here as a Sorcerer, this will be on the Codex side. 

I stalled this post to the 13tb because I wanted to finish the alge growth on the nurgle champ

The Berzerkers. 

I built these, but they got bumped to June to July. 

I bought a new wash to try, from a company called Dark Star, I'm buying a couple of others from them, I also finally tried the tesseract glow on the Mugan Ra I've had for a while.

I finished the Dishonour Guard, there is a chapter banner but I want to get some other bits finished first like the rest of this army.

Marnius was originally on an Astogranite base, so to make his match the rest I gave his base a layer of Vallejo Earth Texture.
