Monthly Vow 12th Of February to The 12th Of March

 Well bugger.

I've seen a release schedule for Combat Patrol and the Khorne stuff isn't due until April which means my package will be May. That's one plan ruined, okay not ruined but in need of some body work for sure.

So what's the plan now? I say to myself as I sit in Band On The Wall waiting for The Gomez show to start.

Well the Dread Filled Month is definitely on, thinking of March to April for that at the moment, oh which is this one. Ah okay old boxy defiler, another Redemptor Björn The Fell Handed, 3 Blood Angels Contemptors, a Helbrute and the Preator tank. Of those I'm potentially going to let the Redemptor slide as that's going to be be most work. If I get all that done probably start on the guard/Genestealer cult army. Although at this time that seems pretty unlikely.

As of the 9th of March I'm moving the legionaries squad to this Vow as unless I go "hardcore" this weekend I'm not going to get 10 minis with that level of trim done in 2 days, as well as the 5 Havocs I've already got started. As I'm looking at a building blitz {is it a blitz if it's building?} I'll plan to get the extra 5 Havocs built as well, then they will wait until the other big guys are finished.

Review Tine

The first  bits finished this month were the Watchers in the Dark, I'm planning one for each squad but as I don't have that many I'm going to have to proxy a couple.

I finished the brass off and the base on the 8 of these, put one of the red butchers and the big Chaos Lord into the other squad, that Lord is bigger than the regular Chaos Terminators.

The not Harkan World Claimer is planned to be a jump pack Raptor squad leader, no I'm not doing 10 Raptors and 5 Warp Talons, I'm still still doing 5 Warp Talons, {too much trim} and 10 Heresy era jump pack Marines.

I've left this with just a Fang highlight as I like the idea of the glowing exhaust pipes, scream of the engines and the afterburner glow being the first thing you see as they descend from a night sky.

Björn The Betrayer and Space Kharne. Kharen is going into the Jakhals Squad when that finally lands. I gave her one of the spare Tartarus chain blades as a knife as I forgot to check the Orrlock and Enforceer bits for a pistol for her.

Björn the Betrayer, Breaker of 2 Legions, {still working on that saga} all I've done here is give the old metal Kharne the Betrayer the Greigor head and power pack. I'm a coin toss away from getting either the new version or the Heresy version and giving that the power fist. I'll decide when I'm down at Warhammer World. I'm really happy with how this has come out.

The Dark Apostle and Wolf Priest are both filling the same slot in this army.

The Dark Apostle got the head from the Wolf Priest and that was the only bit of conversion here.

The Wolf Priest was going to get the Dark Apostle head but I lost that and just found a hooded head to use instead. I like how this guy looks and might get another to actually paint up in the correct colours, oh, or use as an interrogator Chaplain... Okay keep that idea for later.

The Havocs / Long Fangs and the Watcher in the Dark

The Berzerkers squad

Everything is ready to start.

The squad got finished, they look okay and I'm happy with how they came out.

I used one of the Havocs to make this one, I used the Dane Axe left over from the Chaos Björn Chuck.

The Finecast Beliel.

A mate had asked if I had this guy 2023 ish and I'd boxed him with a load of Terminators bits, then moved those bits from one box to another and was still looking for the plastic box when they were in a cardboard box, I was actually looking for the land speeders I'd moved with the plan to add wheels to make them ATV proxies. I still haven't found the land speeders.

So on this guy, there's a metal storm bolter arm, to counter balance this, I've glued a penny into the base. The sword arm is a spare Tartarus arm and the sword came from the same box that Beliel was found in, the census on the watcher was also in this box while the watcher was in the main terminators bits box.

The 5 Havocs/Long Fangs, I got the Fang base coat and crimson wash done on all 5, with enough time to get 1 marine trimmed with the copper pen.

The Havoc squad. I didn't quite get them finished by bed time. So not finished.

Slight Change In Plan

Terminators again, well 1 more, 1 more. Until next time.

Okay I know what I said, well I was looking at my tiny Tiberos and thinking the little fella needs an upgrade. So I found a Leviathan Terminator Captain for not too much on Ebay and bought that. I then condensed the 2 boxes of Terminators bits down to 1 and used that moment to dig of those little Tartarus chain blades, get to bigger arms sourced used some more of my green stuff to fit the chain blades under the fists, as the lightning claws are named Slake and Thirst I thought about what to use, one was rather easy as that's just a regular Knuckle Duster lightning claw, the other I has a root through the Dark Eldar weapons box for some blades, I had a couple of ideas and wanted to have a look at what was in there.

I've ended up using one of the Wytch Swords for this, thinking a weapon called Thirst would be brutal. I'm trimming the blade down a bit and will green stuff it to the back of the power fist.

Once that's cured it's waiting for the Leviathan Captain to arrive.

HQ Section.

Finished off the HQ Section yesterday.

The options for the Dark Apostle, on the Chaos Codex side of the army, I swapped the Wolf Priest head onto the dark apostle mini, and had to find a head that worked on the Wolf Priest, the little guys might be coming down to Warhammer World later this month.

The not Harkan World Claimer. His trophy racks broke off when the jump pack went under the sofa. I've only added Fang highlighting on this as I like the idea off his small section of the army descending from a storm wracked sky the exhaust pipes and burners from the engines the only sign of trouble coming. After looking at the Raptors box I'm going to hold off until we get either Mk4 or mk6 Heresy jump troops and get a squad of 10 of those and 5 raptors as all of that fracking trim on them.

Kharen is now waiting for her Jakhals to arrive, which is May I think.
Björn The Betrayer was again just a simple head swap, that has worked rather well.
Now do I grab a Kharne on the 21st and give him Greigor's power claw?

I got the Berzerkers, legionaries and havoc/long fangs out of the box to get started as well as finding the right arms for the watcher in the Dark.

One I'm particularly happy with is this guy using the Dane Axe from the Space Wolf Terminators kit.

The little guy's arms have been glued in place.
Beliel was a surprise. I had an old box of Terminator bits that went missing for over a year. I think I used the arms on the heavy Intercessor Captain Beliel conversion I know I've done.
The left handed storm bolter is metal, not sure which kit gave me that arm, the sword I've had for ages and just needed an arm that would work on it.
Currently working on the Berzerkers, Beliel and the Watcher in the Dark, with the long fangs/Havocs waiting on the table with the other 5 to be built.
I'm baking tomorrow and getting most of the trim done on the Berzerkers with a copper pen a mate had ordered for me, which is why some of the trim looks slightly different.

Sunday The 22nd Of February 2026

Saturday was spent messing about and preparing a meal for today, so Sunday I was able to get everything packed away and ready for Warhammer World next month.

27 days to go.

So yes, terminators are completed. Until I buy the Cattaphrattii box.

Up next I grabbed some of the HQ choices out of the box to get some paint on them.

We have both versions of the Dark Apostle I'm using as the Codex side of the army, Björn The Betrayer, Kharen for her Jackle squad and Harkon World Claimer.

I was not sure what to do with the envoy of Abbadon I was thinking of using him as the Black Legion character but then if I paint him in the Wolf Pack colours I can look to add some Raptors at some point.

I Know What I Said About Terminators

Not quite as finished with Terminators as I thought.

I was thinking of buying the Red Butchers when they get updated to the larger scale Cattaphrattii pattern, but after doing the trim today you can forget that.

I got the Fang and crimson wash on last night, this morning was Russ grey then fenris before I glued the 2 watchers to bases to take to Warhammer World next month, and started painting the one holding the scabbard, which I think is actually from the Grimaldas Retinue, not an actual watcher in the dark.

I got the brass trim done. I moaned about it to my hobby chat and they suggested I try the trim pens.

Of the 2 colours close in the range my mate is ordering copper when he puts an order in at the Web store later this month.

Also that's an obscene level of trim.

The 2 watchers are getting astrogranit bases, the 3 not Red Butchers terminators are going to get the grass bases when I remember to buy some PVA glue. I'm home early Wednesday, I can go through B&M bargains and grab sum, hopefully this one won't stick the top closed.

Monthly Vow December to February The 12th.

I've started this post on the 2nd, let's see how we go.

Yeah, the Contemptors got dropped.  I need to get some PVA glue for bases for the Wolf Pack as the last one has stuck the lid on.

This is like when I used to work nights and got loads done.

28 terminators and 2 Harlequins, pretty good. The 8 Wolf Pack Terminators don't count to my pledge though.

Plan A, the Berzerker squad, 2 Long Fang/ Havoc squads, Legionary Squad and all that trim and the red butchers terminators squad +3 which are on the table but probably won't get touched until the 13th as I want to finish the last of the Lion's Blades Terminators first, and this squad is going in the Warhammer World box for March, there is also the 10 terminator lightning claws to do this month.

If they get done I'm not sure what comes next, probably a Dread Filled Month with Helbrute, old defiler, yes I am getting the new one, a redemptor for Björn The Fell Handed conversion and at least one of the Blood Angels Contemptors if not all 3, but that's most likely March To April from where I am right now.

It's looking like the Khorne Berzerkers are the last lot coming from Hatchette, which for me means April/May I think so I've got to switch some stuff around for the various vows this year.

Review Time.

With just the shoulder pad and sword to do I was able to push those out over the course of an early finish and a late start the next day.

The Terminators building day did not go as planned with work and home problems getting in the way then on my next early finish I just had nothing in me to assemble the rest of the Terminators.

The Terminator Ancient was nice and easy, as he's an officer he also got an extra layer of wraith bone added to make him stand out from the beige crowd, more than just holding up a big flag would do.

Two finished photos for these guys as I was under the sofa looking the missing axes at one point. I'm following the basic recipe for Space Wolves with these, just swapped the wash to crimson, so it gives a more darker, bruised look before you put the layers on.

Not sure where my pledge card has gone...

I had a fairly productive assembly day and a few lucky wins on ebay to add a few things to the next Terminator squad.

The big lads and the Captain all got green wet blending on them so were done at the same time.

I then spent about 3 days finding the arms for them.

So banged this one out as a change from black power armour, can't imagine he'll be on the table soon.

The Chaplin and Captain had their details done.

Heads, rings and plasma cannons ready to be painted as well as the Solitaire, I keep losing one of his arms.

And finally finished the Satanine Terminators.

The close assault terminators were done a bit at a time as I was doing a lot of day shifts at work that week.

The lightning claws arms are waiting for shoulder pads, so I'll add them to next month's vow

The last squad this month is also the last squad from the Crux Terminatus box.

I've already planned to take this squad down to Warhammer World which was why its in this photo.

I didn't do my usually 5 minutes with the cat on the sofa before work as the only thing left to was the agrax earthshade wash on the base.
