Look What I Got.

I had this one waiting for me when I got to work today. I really only went in the box for the assembly instructions and had a quick at the sprues.

Those mk2 Crusade suits look great.

The mk2 Preator I think will look good no matter which chapter it'll be painted for, I'm sure I'm fairly sure that as of this moment I'm painting them Dark Angels with the green highlights.

The Satanine Terminators...

I'm going to have to build them before I make a decision, but I'm really looking forward to getting the box home and having a comfy look through the box with a coffee on Saturday.

The Satanine Preator ; yeah I'm looking forward to doing this one.

The Satanine Dreadnought. It uses a similar elbow style to the plastic Contemptor, so the. 5mm thick magnets should fit. {I'm at work till tomorrow evening so don't can't check, but I'm sure someone had already got a video uploaded with a magnet guide.

The turret, one of my game group says his us going together nicely.

And the accessories sprue that you get 4 of, those lightning claws are going to get used at some point for sure.

Saturday Plan.

Note to self, need milk for the coffee.

Friday wash the cafetiere.

Saturday make coffee.

Unbox Death's Head and get him out.

Unbox Satanine, decide a build plan. Have a look through the book for background. Check the GW Web store and see how much the separate boxes of everything cost, find out how big a squad of Satanine Terminators can actually be.

Drink coffee and eat toast.

Zero Free Time.

I've had 1 singular day where I haven't woken up at work since June the 28th, my next waking up in my bed day off is Saturday, even though I'm on call I've put myself down for unavailable on the work time sheet app.

So as you can imagine with zero free time, or getting home mid morning and just being drained I've just not had time to get anything done, as I've mostly napped and cooked when I have had the rare wake up at work day. The bad thing is it doesn't get better for the next 2 weeks.

What have I done hobby wise?

Very little.

I've picked up one of the Forge World Chaplin dreadnoughts that has been stripped and is unassembled, which I think is a bonus.

And after checking my save the pennies account topped £175, I had enough to buy Satanine from my local 3rd party store, and was on the verge of ordering it when the mate I bought the dread off shared a screen shot of the Satanine box for £126 plus change. I've got that being delivered to work tomorrow. I can't see myself getting a massive amount done before my week off at the end of the month, what with mornings off and waking up at work.

So plan A. Get a couple of the Space Wolf Terminators built to use as  test pieces for painting the Satanine Preator, at least build the Preator before the week off.

Fingers crossed I can get some work done on the 2 major conversions I have under way.

Dane Axe It Is

The Dane Axe won the vote as the lightning claws got 1 and the axe got 5. So there's something different to work with for Björn.

Also, after 2 refunds, one stolen off my door step and one lost in the post office I finally got hold of Death's Head action figure and totally buggered the re sell value by taking it out of the box to get a better look at it. The printed background in the box could be handy as well. So far it's just photoshopped but will try something on Monday

Question

 Closing the question tomorrow pm {20/07/25}

Dane axe?

Or lightning claws?

Monthly Vow 12th of June To The 12th of July

And it started so promisingly. In my defence I haven't had an actual day off since my last post, and my next day off is next Saturday which will mostly be catching up with the cleaning that hasn't been done.

Next month.

Hoping to get a few more days off for starters.

Finish Marbas.

Check which of the Space Wolf Terminator Arms fit best on the the latest Bjorn.

There's a 30k Dark Angel praetor to paint to finish off the Inner Circle Companions.

With a nebulous plan to get the Satanine box and get all that done, which given the free time I've had this month is a rest of the year project.

Review Time.

So little progress. The only thing I managed to do last week was give it a left hand, in a lucky break I found the Dark Angels upgrade sprue and clipped the tilt shield with the sword off, and blu tacked it on the hand as a knuckle duster.

Saturday my first day off in 3 weeks once I've hoovered and mopped I'm planning on trying arms for Björn, there's a 2 handed great axe, an axe and shield and the lightning claws to try.

There's this guy for the Inner Circle Companions, and lastly there's the elephant in the room, Satanine. I've just checked my save the pennies account and I have enough the box from my local 3rd party store, I did say I'd let him know by the weekend if I was going to order a copy and I have enough cash. I'll post on Friday if I've made my mind up.

Björn The Plans For The Next One.

So these guys are on order with my local shop. There is a the axe and shield option and the twin lightening claws arms are the 2 options I'm thinking trying on the Bjorn Chaos dread.
If I can't decide I will be asking which looks better on this guy.

So onto the other minis in the box.

Plan A for now is to make sure I have everything I need to paint those 5 Terminators in the Wayne England Thousand Sons colours and get some practice in as it has been a couple years since I last painted one.
If memory serves me correctly the process was;
Storm host silver base coat on the body, I can't remember now if it was palid wytch flesh or Deepkin Flesh wash over the sliver for the metallic white look.
Yellow Shoulder Pad was avaland sunset base, orange wash, yeril yellow, into flash git yellow.
Blue Shoulder Pad was a dark blue, don't remember the shade, a draken hold blue wash and then blend up to temple guard or thousand Sons blue depending on how I feel.
Trim will be retribution armour gold with reikland flesh wash, highlighted in the usual way.
I'm saying this is from memory as I did save it in a note pad app, but the screen went on the phone I have it saved on, so it's lost unless I put it down on paper in a note pad somewhere.

Doesn't Look Like Much

Friday I spent in the cinema watching 28 years later and F1 so no hobby work was done.

Yesterday I started working on Marbas again. I filed the symbol down by about half to get the flex and movement to allow it to fit on the shoulder pad.

I also add some of the other bits to knees and the other shoulder

And I was able to pick this guy up for the number 6 slot in my Inner Circle Companions squad.

The Next Chaos Bjorn

This one stalled can't lie. There are still a couple of things off with it.

The new scale terminator arm works better than the very old chaos warrior arm, and with the announcement of the Space Wolf Terminators coming to pre order next Saturday, I messaged my local 3rd party store to order the box, and it drops on payday. So that's something to look forward to on the next monthly Vow.

The other thing I did was blu tac the power pack from the Deamon Prince to it, to see how it would look. Apart from top heavy and skipping leg day vibes I'm not sure, for sure I'd have to commit even greater tech Heresy and snip off the exhaust pipe on the back for a better fit and green stuff to hide any gaps.

Squads Done.

The Cenobites Deathwing Knights are finished, the Inner Circle Companions are still waiting for a number 6.

I've also started on Marbas, Fallen Deamon Prince as the primium pack arrived with the Howling Banshee. The high elf lion was hacked up for its head and the bush from the tail.

The new Deamon Prince mini is a bit of a fiddly build.

The instructions don't actually have the the different builds, which is a problem when you've got one arm on and then the next page has a different build.

I'm think the fake mane looks okay and a bit more fur on the wing arms

Shields

Touched up what was left to do on the minis in the squad. When I was looking for the shields for this squad I was only able to find 4 of them.

The rims need a touch up and the seals still need a bit more work and number 5 needs everything doing.

I'd stripped the dreadnought and have it tucked away in a ramikin.

I had Father's Day a day late with my kids and got some retro cassette tapes and the Captain Rex in Y wing and plenty of baked treats.

Boba Fett and his ship was given to me last year

Rex and his Y Wing

I'd picked this kit up last year and just sat on it.

And all the mini figures.

Monthly Vow don't ask to 12th June.

 Been a while.

Same old excuses though.

After a while out of the loop this is my first full month back at painting and I've been stuck at work for every day bar one of June so far.

Plan for next month finish the Cenobites Knights squad, and yes I need to find the damn shields again. They are nearly finished, just the scabbards to go and the shields, so if I don't go to Blackpool on Monday I'm hoping to get the minis finished and the shields started. As I'm going through town on my way home regardless of which way I travel, I'm going to pick up some nail varnish remover to clean up the old metal chuck dread with the plan to paint this in the Celebrants colours.

I think I have everything I need to do this.

Then it's on to Harlequins with the unmasked Solitaire and an Avatar with power fist and digi weapon. When I've packed the Terminators away I'll get that box out. Oh yes I need to sort out the blade guard veterans back into squads and paint the base rims to match, so a little bit longer with that box in my living room. Going to find the leman russ compensator 6000 and put the plan in place to paint that for the Necromunda 8th with a nice light grey.

Review time.

The last couple of bits were finished on these guys, still not found number 6 for this squad.

I finished the Warrior Prime, I even did some wet blending on the wings, which looks better in photos than I can see on the mini.

The shields got finished for the mixed armour squad.

I thought I'd get a close up of the old metal captain in Terminator Armour as I like it.

I've had this squad in bits for a year. I was less intimidatied by The Lion. The scabbards and shields are still left to do, but I do like how these came out overall.

Lastly is the Sargent of the squad. This is more or less there now.
