Those Space Wolf Terminators

Remember those Space Wolf Terminators I've been talking about for months now?

I got the test pair done yesterday.

I got them built in early A. M., and ran ahead with the yellow as that was my main concern because I've not done that yellow in about 2 years.

An averland sunset base coat with the orange wash I can't remember the name of, yereil yellow followed by a second wash, highlights of yeriel yellow and then flash git yellow on half of the beards, the paldrons and the largest surface, those shields.

The blue isn't finished yet as my pot of temple guard blue has dried up, so I'm going to try and get a break today to nip to GW and grab a pot. To finish off the beards and paldrons.

There's detail bits to do but as this was more a practice for this guy.

If my week goes to plan I hope to get this one built on Friday.

Now do I paint the dreadnought in those colours...

Those 2 terminators weren't the only thing I did yesterday I rooted through the armies on parade box from 2019 with fingers crossed as I'd talked about selling the  World Eaters mk4 to a mate and couldn't remember if I had. It was still in the box, with the exhaust pack off.

I shuffled based and got one I liked, and got it based in the Fang grey.

It got a Crimson wash, and later after doing some bits on the Terminators it had Russ Grey added.

This morning I had a look for the chaos dreadnought box, as I know I have the original World Eaters Contemptor in there, and I also, happily had a Kharne the Betrayer. Now do I make him a Geigor by giving him the lightning claw arm or just him as an aspiring champion with the Geigor head I have already painted?

Based

With just a couple of hours before work this morning it was time to pick up the PVA glue and toilet roll I needed.

Once back I home I dug out some mid green paint and mixed that with the PVA, applied to one base at a time, the base was dipped in the grass flocking and put to one side while I did the next.

I'll get them against the good background tomorrow and the other 2.

Wow I might actually get my target for this month achieved.

I know that's Heresy but here we are.

Björn The Wulfen Jarl.

I like this, I like the mini as, it could still be a loyalist, he's "just" Wulfened out, or he could be Chaos and the Canis Helix has been brought to the fore, so is now what you see.

There's a tiny bit more work to do on the fur to make it more pale, and I need to dig out the Stirland Mud technician paint for the base for this and the Juggernaut Lord. I should probably pick up some pva glue as well to mix with a paint so I can add some grass to make it look more real.

I got a later bus than normal so managed to squeeze some time in to paint the base here, some areas will definitely get another layer of agrax earthshade

So I'm posting this tomorrow{today is Tuesday the 23rd of September 2025} , to see if my last post can break into my all time top posts in less than a week, it was posted on the 18th and was just at 1,505 when I started this edit.

Found the Stirland Mud, Blood for the blood god and athonia camoshade, so a quick stir of the mud and that went on the 2 bases, the blood for the blood god was applied to the gore trails on Radukar 's hand and the tree and other scenic bits had the camoshade wash. I'll decide what's next on this when I get home from work.

Micro Dread Björn.

Nearly there with this one. There's a tiny bit to do on the ammo pack and to fix it to the base.

The arms where green stuffed in place before painting, the shoulder fur were painted separately.

6 hours later I was able to glue the ammo feeds in place and get painting started.

For something that came together so quickly I'm really happy with how this has come out.

I really like how this fur has come out. It was a Rakarth Flesh base coat, a Reikland Flesh Wash, then banelord brown, with a low light of dryad bark brown.

Plan A is to get the good photos on Saturday, there's a wake up at work, get the bus to Wigan, see if I'm able to book a table to get all the Björns out for some good pics. I'm doing this at Wigan because that store has the shortish distance overall for me to carry everything to and from bus stops.

So next Marbas {maybe} , Radukar Björn to paint and the Brutalis Björn dreadnought, which I have the bits for now.

Had To Do Something About Those Shoulders

The absolute single main object of today was to green stuff the storm bolters to those hands.

With a couple of hours spare I had a look at the Space Wolf Terminator sprue for bits I could use to make it look more wolfy.

Just waiting for the ammo belts to arrive so I can fix the arms in place and get the belts in place.

Those faux fur shoulders need a bit of work to get them to fit better but I think I'm there now and, once the shoulder fur is sorted will get some paint on it. I'll paint the parts separately, at least today.

I Did That Thing Again

Yesterday I was aiming to get the ammo pack on this. In the dry fittings I'd done before it was obvious the exhaust pipes would need to be moved. I cut them off, and trimmed some bits off the metal power plant to give me a flat surface. Mixed up some green stuff and stuck the pack on and then being sensible about the exhaust I turned it 90° and put off to one side.

I then cooked tea for my daughters of Toad in the Hole

It probably needed 10 more minutes but my youngest had to go to work. There was veg and gravy as well.

This morning I did some of the cleaning I've been putting off for a while and found this guy, can't remember the company, but it's Lord Flash Hart from Blackadder the 2nd and 4th.

I also found these, slightly less than an hour after I'd ordered some more from Zinge Industries. The box these were in also had a Brutalis dread in it which had been planned for the Blood Angels dreadnought army that's gone by the way side, so just wanting on the bits to land from Ebay and the next Redemptor Björn can be started when I've finished the 2 I already have on the go.

I got the havoc issue out and cut the rota cannon off the frame and tried it on the arm but it is too big.

Another bit in that box was a couple of land speeder assault cannons which are again to big for this build but expect to see how they look on the Brutalis.

One of the Wulfen bodies donated a tabard as Björn's wolf pelt is too wide. When the upgrade sprue arrives I'll see what bits will go on this.

I think my next day working on this is Tuesday morning, which will be fitting the storm bolters under fists. If I can get away with glue then I'll also fit the ammo belts, if it's green stuff that'll be it.

A Productive Day.

The bases arrived for both Chuck versions of Björn, the Chaos version is mounted.

The Khorne Greigor Fell Hand on Juggernaut which has started the idea for a new army next year was finished, I just need to find the Stirland Mud technician paint for that.

So the next Björn the Fell Handed has been started. The original, short legged version of the Dreadnought.

I trimmed down the power pack on it's back and cut the exhaust pipes off, turned them through 90 ° and green stuffed those back on, as well as adding an ammo pack from the chaos havoc issue of combat patrol, to save me some cash. Now I'm leaving those alone.

On to the hands. I commented #technoheresy and chopped the cast bolters from the back of the hands. I'm open to suggestions here but personally, I'm leaning towards using the Wulfen claws on this one.

Edit

Yeah that doesn't work.

Plan For The New Year, New Army.

In the way this sort of thing happens, I had an idea. Long ago I started the alternative Björn The Fell Handed project, on the bus to work this morning I decided to try and grab a Kharne The Betrayer to use some bits on the Juggernaut riding Björn, so it looked more Khorne flavoured.

After I'd finished work this afternoon I walked across Preston and found the Warhammer Store closed. I then mooched back across town to Harlequins and found they don't have Kharne in stock, however they did have the Khorne Berzerkers box in stock.

This simple purchase sparked an idea;

I'm already getting the Combat Patrol series, there is a both a Chaos Marine patrol and a Khorne Berzerkers combat patrol, which up to this point was getting boxed and handed in to the food bank at Christmas for someone to receive, outside of Björn on Juggernaut this is still what could happen. The plan is to build and paint both the Chaos and Khorne patrol as a Fallen Space Wolf force.

As far as painting goes the only difference from the Space Wolf guide will be carroburg crimson as the shade over agrax earthshade. Trim will be bronze with an ivory accent.
