2nd Company Master For Chosen Formation

I'd started this one at the same time as the first Company Master with the Halfords Primer then I gave the robe a coat of Ushabati bone, when it was dry I gave it a nuln oil wash.

I left it at that for a bit then tonight I went and started dry brushing the robe with ushabati bone for about 2/3rds of Winter Solider.

The last 1/3rd of the film I spent touching the other bits.

Middle Hammer Company Master

For the Cypher Chosen Formation I've cobbled together 3 squads of 8 so far and have only bought 3 marines so far.
First finished is the middle hammer company master from the late 90's, I've green stuffed it into the base so can't go and check the date but I think it's 97.

I've got the DV Company Master and the white metal , robed version of the captain as well to pad these units out.

The next up project is the 3 veteran squads

Outside of plasma guns, there are going to be plenty of weapons on display that aren't actually there, an auto cannon and rota cannon per squad along with bolters.

December 26th; Where Do We Go From Here?

Sit at the bar drinking iced White Russians.
Looking at where I've got to I'm thinking of getting each the army out and photographing them all, separately as I don't think I've got space for them to be all in one place at one time, this is for the new year's post.
Build wise, I'm priming the captains tonight

Just waiting to get the 3rd captain from eBay and I'll be moving the lightning claws captain over to this formation which l think takes me up to 24 marines leaving a box of Veterans and a careful trawling of ebay to get an old robed marine to complete this unit oh and lots of plasma guns. Basically there are going to be lots of guns on display in these 3 squads but anything that isn't a plasma will be a bolter. WYSISYG this will not be.

A few images I'm guessing from an early release of the expensive monthly magazine from GW who's name has escaped me.

Plastic flying sisters

A fancy hatted Inquisitor

And Ad Mech.
And as I finish work in half an hour and I'm off till Monday,

But you try finding a meme about leaving work happy on a Tuesday

Budgeting Issues

Having had a £150 hole blown in my household budget for December and January, never mind Christmas, my buying power is rather limited, but I still want to get on with hobby stuff. About the only thing left for me to do is to make a plasma heavy Veterans formation from the Cypher data slate. I dug out the robed marines I do have and found 20, I've got an agreement with a mate to sort out a DA Veteran box when he next orders from Elemental Games, and I spent just over £10 on 2 classic marines from eBay so just need 3 more and I'll need to check my plasma gun numbers as well as I intend to get 3 full Chosen Squads to round out this formation.

New From Forge World 16/12/16

Description

One of the most heavily armed and armoured of all the Knight chassis in service, the Acastus Knight Porphyrion rivals even the Scout Titans of the Legio Titanicus in terms of size and power. Armed with weapons that can obliterate even the most heavily armoured target, it is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Taller than even the towering Cerastus Knights, the Acastus Knight Porphyrion is a dominating presence on the battlefield. The Knight’s main weapons are a pair of twin-linked Magna Lascannon, devastating weapons an order of magnitude more powerful than even the Sollex pattern Heavy Lascannon of the Mechanicum Taghmata.

Where a Knight Paladin may carry a heavy stubber as a secondary weapon, the Porphyrion is armed with a pair of autocannon which are often replaced with Lascannon when additional anti-armour firepower is necessary. It’s Ironstorm Missile Pod has a substantially larger payload than those found on more common Knights, though in battle-zones where the danger from airborne assault is apparent, this system can be replaced with powerful Helios defence missiles.

Rules for using the Acastus Knight Porphyrion in both Mechanicum Taghmata and Questoris Knights armies in Horus Heresy games can be downloaded from the Download tab on this page.

The Acastus Knight Porphyrion is a complete, multi-part resin kit. It includes several optional secondary weapons.

Forge World Community News 12/12/16

Tis the Season of Slaying
Around the Eye of Terror, and across the Mortal Realms, the fabric of reality thins and the greatest beasts of chaos stir behind the veil.

You Chaos fans out there have a had pretty good December so far, and it’s about to get better, because the Exalted Bloodthirster of Khorne will soon be rejoining the fight. These winged behemoths took a brief time-out from the battles on the mortal planes, while our warp-smith artificers re-consecrated their daemonic moulds, but they will soon be back to wreak violent mayhem on all who stand before them.

You can set a reminder for them HERE, to be the first to find out when they are back on sale.

bloodthirster

To mark the occasion, and since so many of you have asked about it, we set our rules writers the task of creating Warscrolls to let you use this Exalted Greater Daemon in your Warhammer Age of Sigmar games.

These are being worked on right now, and will be with you very soon…

PS: The rules for using this model in games of Warhammer 40,000 can be found in here:

Monthly Vow 12th of December To The 12th of January

It's Christmas and new year, feck all is on the menu for this month, on the plus side it gives me chance to get a rough plan A in place for 2017.
So review of last month;

The Dread hand still hasn't made its way to me so the Optimus Class Librarian Dreadnought has pretty much sat untouched this month.
The Mk1 Predator got rather a major boost, going from just Auto cannon and las cannon to pretty much all options that Forge World supply with the 2 Deimos pattern Predators.

I really did enjoy this project, it was a pleasure to bring this venerable relic up to date.

The 2nd Vindicator got done, as said I'm going to get the laser Destroyer version when down at Warhammer World next year to finish this formation off.

Again I'm having a mate buy me a plastic Whirlwind to finish this formation off when we go down to Warhammer World in February next year.

The 3 Hammer Of Caliban formations together.

Version 1 of The Storm Lord, I was unhappy with how the tank looks so went and bought a Churchill tank, I found out that this wasn't named after the then Prime Minister Winston Churchill, but his ancestor, Lord Malborough.

This looks much bigger and has left me looking at some of the other tanks available from Warlord Games. They do make nice kits.

I've added a havoc launcher to this as well as that is an option in 30k.

As you can see, this tank chassis looks huge under the body but this is 40k. . .

And lastly there's the las cannon pred for the Knights of Blood, that started out as a Lion's Blades pred.
