High Marshal Halbrecht Conversion

Had a day off this week and made a start on this one. Plan A so far is the grey melta gun add on.

The head I'm using is the unhelmeted head from the Chaplain on bike sprue.

The sword heft is currently too long, no argument at all, so plan A with that is first stop, cut it at the orange line and then trim that off just below the ring that the original Croiser was mounted on, I filed both the sword where I had cut it and the ring flat, and sat with it for 20 minutes while the glue cured.

What's left at this stage is the Holy Hand Grenade knee pad, there's a tiny bit of filing needed to get a nice fit on the leg, but I'm not touching that until my next day off, where as I think I'll tackle the sword and attachment when I get out of work on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Finished The Bike Chaplain

Worked on these 4 this week, the Chaplain on the bike is a nice kit, I do like how this one goes together, but the front wheel assembly was a bit off putting as its turned to one side. The front wheel is a nice sub assembly, everything else is a good sensible fit.

This is a nice mini and a plan is in place to get one to use as a Captain on bike in the Kenada pose.

The blade Guard Veterans, I have a plan for now. I know the flag and tilt plates aren't painted, so plan A is when I finally get a game in with these and if they get a kill, the banner will get the icon of the army and the tilt plates will have some heraldry based around there actions in the game.

Progress On The Chaplain

I made some progress on the Bike Chaplain and the Blade Guard Veterans yesterday, didn't get pi s of the Veterans though.

I got the leather done on the book cover, belts, pouches, straps and the tube.

Head lights, indicators and brake light.

Mostly just need nuln oil wash on some parts, the head needs doing and the Croiser did get finished last night before I went to bed.

When I started painting this I thought it was a Grey Alien and spent most of the day trying to work out why a Chaplain would have that image on his armour.

Painting Day

Made a start on the painting the stuff I put together the other day.

I put some green stuff on the alternative head for the Halbrecht conversion and left it alone.

I gave the bike, Chaplain and Blade Guard Veterans a coat of black templar contrast and went shopping/excerise.

When back home, I got the ushabati bone out and gave the tabbards and other bits a like belts a coat.

A couple of the other plates got a coat of ushabati bone.

The last thing I did was to give the bike base a coat of grey, then once dry and cost of agrax earthshade. Plan tomorrow is to give the blets and packs the agrax treatment over the day.

Also have expressed an interest in the Kill Team box, with a swop of the Necrons for the Heavy Intercessors, but those are later next month.

Building Day

Spent a nicely balanced day yesterday, house work, building minis, shopping and Destiny 2.

I started with the High Marshal Halbrecht conversion, with trying the build on the Indomitus Crusade box Chaplain.

In one of those really annoying moments when I'd got the head sorted by green stuffing the cross on, I found a better head on the biker Chaplain sprue.

As it was late when I found that head I didn't try and green stuff the head band on it.

I also finally got the biker Chaplain together as I kept misplacing the instructions for it. Minor mistake in getting the wrong plates in the wheels. Having built this and the Indomitus box versions I prefer this one.

The last bit built was the Blade Guard Veterans box, yes I know, no heads and no tilt plates. If you can get this box with a discount then it is absolutely worth it.

Monthly Vow 12th Of January To The 12th Of February

 Need to prioritise better...

Missed the monthly target but have been aiming for quality over quantity.

Plan for this month is the Blade Guard Veterans and the Chaplain on bike as a core goal, there is a plan for a more active pose Ezikael that, as long as I've been paid, I can order the bits next week, have a word of mouth agreement with my local store, well message exchange asking them to get the bits, there's still the High Marshal Halbrecht to do, then there's the Blood Bowl team for the youngest, which given the work life balance and what not might be enough.

There is a plan to to a Beliel for the above photo from the Forge World Contemptor Gladius, the Custodian version with the Sword and shield, would need to add some heavy bolters to the shield arm for, but as that is currently out of stock, as is the Dark Angels Leviathan I'm okay with topping up my copper jar until they are back in stock, I might also through a Relic Contemptor in there for a reworking of The Storm Lord.

REVIEW TIME

Sapphire and Steel got done, I have done the chains I just put them in a box with some of the old House Delac and the Imperial Pilot minis I've bought to go with them.

Finally got everything for this one and I also found the shoulder pad I'd intended to use in the first place under the sofa, so far I've enjoyed doing these upgrades to the classic characters.

Next up was the Ezikael Primaris conversion a few people have talked about using the Phobos Librarian body for it instead, but I don't see it with him in this stance, the Judiciar body is more suited to that one.

So the second version is the enguard Obi Wan stance, thankfully GW are in a pointy hand phase.

I missed a few details on the banner until I got a nuln oil wash on it, I still missed the sword going through the book until I looked in an old codex.

For an old metal mini those details are still sharp.

And done, yes I swopped the base out to one I had already done with astrogranite after I'd done the finished photo, as you can see in the top photo where the gang is all together.

Primaris Ezikael Finished

Again with the day working getting in the way of painting and video gaming...

Got out of work yesterday morning and rather than get on with the new season of Destiny I started painting the Ezikael, going with the green armour to match the Azrael I'd already done, I had forgotten the Azrael robe was screaming {beige} skull, rather than the pallid witch flesh I'd done the Cypher with.

I used the Judiciar body, a set of Intercessors arms, one that holds the bolter high up, a head from the Dark Angels upgrade sprue and Ezikael's power pack and sword.

A couple of the wip pics

And here's the old gang as I have them currently, Beliel is a coin toss on a Captain in Gravis armour {cheapish} or the Custodian Dreadnought with the Sword {not cheap}, with a couple of heavy bolters strapped to the fist arm. Sammy isn't even on the pending projects list.

Ezikael Primaris Progress

I have had a rather heavy week at work so this one got ignored until yesterday, I picked it up and the knife and keys fell off and bounced into the Warp, while I had my arm in there, I found the shoulder pad I had intended to use on the Pedro Kantor Primaris.

I got the base coat done and a second coat on the robe and started the leather on the holster and pouches.

Still undecided on if I go with mostly green armour and a blue shoulder pads or go all blue...

And here is the command shoulder pad I had lost painted up and in place.
