Monthly Vow September To October.

As reasons for not getting any hobby work done, doing a full 160 hours by 3pm GMT from today from the first of the month, with 4 more hours to work today isn't a bad one. Grandmother Telvig and the repaint of Jussi Nietos are 2nd on my to do list after painting the Skyweavers, I have some items on watch on ebay for the Harlequin Troupe The Wyld Ones which I hope to win and get painted, as well as the Witch Elf... Based on the current outlook of my rota 4 bikes and Harlequins, 2 Wraithlords, 10 Waywatchers and a Witch Elf/Howling Banshees Exarch with Mirror Swords will be plenty to be getting on with. If I do somehow get that lot finished I'll do some Eldar Guardians or Knights Of Blood Marines to pass the time till next month.

Jakob Kell in power armour and Terminator Armour, painted again.

The Troupe of The Grey Angels.

Magnetised the Command Squad as well as re-painted it.

Company Champion, suitably vicious looking I hope.

I re-painted The Grey Angel with a bit more grey.

The Masques current strength.

And the Skyweavers as they stand now.

2nd Banshee Exarch

All I can do is plan right now, too gorram busy working to think about anything else. I've booked some time off next week but I have a few other things that need to be done next week. Plan A is to get this lady done as a Mirror Sword Howling Banshee Exarch. I also plan to get some black on the skyweavers as well as some orange and black on the riders. All this around a date in court, a date in hospital, and a date to wave goodbye to my oldest as she jets to China to teach English for a year.

Seed Of An Idea, Planted Long, Long Ago.

Had an insomnia moment the other night and it got me thinking about the Telvig story and at about 3.30 the snide little voice pipes up, " You knicked that story you did." Had an insomnia moment the other night and it got me thinking about the Telvig story and at about 3.30 the snide little voice pipes up, " You knicked that story you did." So I've been wracking my brain trying to remember where the source was, and the nasty little bugger wasn't a million miles off, judge for yourself, also sorry but this is a Marillion song.
Marillion - He Knows You Know: http://youtu.be/QJs8qYc6_dc
Telvig woke with a start from the recurring dream he'd been having for the last few months now, Isha and Curnos holding their hands out to him, telling him this is the only way, with a feeling of dread, he got a shower, dressed, kissed his children & wife and went to the portal to go to Commaragh. Many of his kind had chosen to give up work but Telvig had always worked, he enjoyed his position as Senior Clerk at Universal Shopping in Commoragh. Today was the last day before the big spring festival and long weekend, so very little work needed to be done but he could dot his I's and cross his T's and catch up on missed paperwork. After lunch a couple of the office girls ask the Boss if they could leave early, there was a party starting soon that they wanted to attend,
"Where is this party?" The boss asked looking them up and down, " You're still dressed in your work things, you can't want to go dressed like that?" One of the girls lent over and whispered in his ear and a slimy smile slid accross his face, " I'll join you," he said standing up and grabbing his coat, "Telvig can you lock up tonight, and make sure you check Longmires files are in order, she's the 3rd person to go missing this month front this office," throwing the keys to him. The boss and the office girls left giggling, Telvig's sharp hearing caught "unding more like an orgy than a party", as the group went under his window, he tutted to himself and went about his duties.
He ended up working later than he'd planned because of sorting out Longmire's desk and there where fewer people around than normal when he left and locked the office. The moment he reached the street Telvig felt hostile eyes on him, he hurried threw the streets towards the portal that would take him home. It didn't take long for the noises to start, voices but he couldn't make out what was being said and the sound of a blade being drawn along a wall, Telvig turned and saw a silhouette of someone, stripped to the waist and with their head to one side like he was listening to someone, and he ran, he threw his case at his pursuer and dived into the warren of allies that were surrounded his office. The pursuer was as well versed in the allies as Telvig and in better shape and gained ground rapidly, catching Telvig in an open area that held the bins for several offices. The pursuer tilted his head again, as if listening to someone telling him something.
"His head? They talked to him this morning?" A smile spread accross his face ,"another head for my collection." The killer reached out to Telvig with the blade when they both heard laughter and footsteps coming from the ally they had run down, he quickly hid the blade behind his back. A stranger entered the space, dressed in the bright outfit of a Harlequin, "What do we have here?" She called out, a forced brightness in her tone, the pursuer, looked like he heard the voice only he could hear again before speaking," this is nothing to do with you follower of Cegorach, leave now."
The Harlequin's mask pouted, and spoke "But my dear fellow," she stepped lightly aound the killer and helped Telvig to his feet, before turning back to him, "this is not what it seems," 4 more players dropped down from the roof tops, her tone darkened " it is you who should leave," Telvig never saw what happened next but one moment the Harlequin was unarmed, the next she had a staff and it was under the killers chin,"LEAVE", she commanded, the other players had all drawn weapons as well, but not the ones he'd seen them use before on stage, these look like weapons of war. The killer looked around the Harlequin at Telvig and left silently. The Harlequins all turned to Telvig, their manner shifting again, 2 of them dusted Telvig down as the one with the staff spoke to him, " Mr Telvig we need to get you home, there are things you need to do.

What's In A Name

My Harlequin army is getting a lot of focus currently, the Star Players are mostly based on Batman Villains with a couple of characters from other sources thrown in to fill the numbers out. The problem I have is that the villains have names that aren't very Eldar/ ancient sounding so I had to spend time thinking of names that matched the villains but still sounded Eldarish, while th names for the various transports and gunboats are ship names from Iain M Banks Culture books. Each Masque has a number. Also I know that Mimes don't really have rules currently buy I like the idea of having something other than just The Chorus.
So here we have the list;
Star Players
Troupe Master- Joker - Cegorach.
Master Mime - Ras 'Al 'Ghul - The Dæmonhead.
Mime - Bane - The Brute of Commorragh.
Trouper- Greegann - The Crimson King.
Trouper- Milliner - The Crowned Fool.
Mime- Scarecrow - The Deceiver.
Trouper - Freeze - The King With The Frozen Heart.
Trouper - Poison Ivy - The Wild One.
Mime - Papa Lazarou - He Who Takes.
Mime - Skeleton - Bringer Of Night.
Trouper - Azreil - The Grey Angel.
Trouper - High Card - King Of Hearts.
Shadowseer - Harley Quinn- The Mother.
Death Jester - 2 Face - The 2 Faced Killer.
Every Masque has 3 Troupes, 2 Skyweaver Squadrons and a heavy support choice.
The First Players Masque is made up of The Star Players, The League Of Shadows and The Crimson Kings Guards, as each troupe in this masque is planned to have 12 troupers and a Shadowseer and a Death Jester and they are the first players I plan to buy 3 Tantalos for them which, along with all the Reader, the other squadrons and transports are named after ships from the Culture books. The Tantalos are named, So Much For Subtlety , Grey Area and Prosthetic Conscience, as this is the top Troupe rather than go with a squadron of Voidweavers I plan to use the Heavy Support slot for a Dark Eldar Reaper which will be named Irregular Apocalypse, the 2 Skyweaver Squadrons, as with all the Skyweavers in this army have the Gravitas names, Squadron 1 is Gravitas Free Zone, Squadron 2 is Size Isn't Everything
Masque 2 is the Mimes, Skeleton's Troupe is The Heroic Dead, Lazarou Troupe is The Takers and Scarecrow's Troupe is The Deceiver. The Raiders are The Jaundiced Outlook, Little Rascal and What Are The Civilian Applications, The Void Weavers are Gunboat Diplomat. The Big Stick and A Frank Exchange Of Views.
The Skyweavers are Death And Gravitas and Gravitas... Gravitas, No Don't Tell Me, I'll Get It In A Moment.
Masque 3 has the Troupes of Azreil, The Grey Angels, Freeze, The Frozen Hearted and Miller, The Crowned Fools.
The Raiders are Wisdom Like Silence, No Fixed Abode and The Mocking Gaze Of The Laughing God.
The Voidweavers are Unacceptable Behaviour, Tactical Grace and Problem Child.
The Skyweavers are A Low Gravitas Warning Signal and Gravitas, What Gravitas.
And the 4th Masque has the Troupes of The King Of Hearts, The Nobility Of Old, Poison Ivy, The Wild Ones and Troupe Joker, Cegorach.
The Raiders are Recent Convert, Ethics Gradient and Smiling, Tolerant.
The Voidweavers are Honest Mistake, Quietly Confidently and Attitude Adjuster.
The Skyweavers are Zero Gravitas and Absolutely No You Know What.
The Venom is Cantankerous.
The Razorwing is Malice Aforethought and the 2 Wraithlord are Ynneads Laughter and Winter Star.

Okay Tiny Bit Of Help Please.

Okay tiny bit of help here, I'm looking at boosting one of these 2 Troupes to 12 members to fit in with the other members of the First Masque; do I paint 2 more for The Crimson Kingsmen or 2 more Grey Angels? The Star Players (dark troupe) are various different colours, the League Of Shadows(twilight troupe) are black so looking for something for a light troupe

I think my OCD is showing... Or possibly my Mid-life crisis.

So as you guys know I am working on a Harlequin army and the thing keeps getting bigger and bigger. I have 90 already assembled and painted with 2 more Troupes left to build which gets me up to 110 Harlequins which is a Troupe short of full 4 Codex Masques. I also need 8 Skyweavers and a Dark Eldar Reaper to fill this up.
So plan A
Has the 3 big Troupes mounted on the Dark Eldar Tanatalos with a Dark Eldar Reaper as the Heavy Support and some actual proper Skyweavers.
Troupe 2, 3 & 4 will be as they are now with Raiders as transport and the home brew Skyweavers.
I've spent most of the afternoon writing the list out with pen and paper (how old school?) and I have 2 costs for this, the first is full Troupes of 10 and no room on the Raider for the Death Jester and Shadowseer, the lower cost is with Troupes of 8 which leaves space for the Death Jester and Shadowseer to ride on the transport. 8080 all maxed out or 7810 at the lower cost as it stands currently, as I like to fill up the slots expect that cost to grow as each Skyweaver and Voidweaver unit is filled to it's max unit allowance... Okay I may have problem...

This Week I Have Mostly Been Working

Says all I need to say really. Got some time yesterday to do some hobby things, mostly playing with magnets, greenstuff and glue.

Most of the arms are now magnetised on the Knights Of Blood Command Squad.

I also started another 4 homebrew Skyweavers, once again riders are magnetised on the back and all have Zeypherglavers.

The unmounted riders were waiting for greenstuff to cure.
I plan to paint these orange and black to match the rest of team Deathstrike.
