And last thing this month is one of the scenery sprues from Conquest, I was thinking of doing another one for the Hounds, but it's 4 coats of paint to get this far, which takes a lot of time and I forgot which blue it was for the details.
So started with ushabati bone base coat, then screaming skull, followed by 2 coats of white scar.
The blue was a base coat of macragge blue with a top coat of Calgar blue.
I've been struggling with my depression this week and a bit and was going to skip doing anything till my next monthly vow, but I needed to do something to give me a boost.
I started out with a simple re paint of what was once the Mentors Chapter Lieutenant into the black of The Lion's Blades, I had lost the bolt pistol arm or used it elsewhere, so gave this one an old marine bolt pistol arm.
The other mini is one of my old conversions , that would have been run as my counts as Tuberous The Red Wake, in my Knights of Blood army. As it stands it'll be a Sgt in a close assault Terminator squad, I just need to find another helmet to give him. The Ogre fists are lightening claws on this guy and I am still thinking of getting the Red Butchers for the rest of the squad, or maybe just 8 axes at least.
So over the last few days I've been working on my plan for the year ahead, what to do and what besides Conquest, to buy.
So Vague Plan A.
The Ironclad that I'm making for the Sisters Of Battle, a standard box dreadnought and another one to make up another of the training Legion dreads, thinking one Luna Wolves and one for Death Guard or the Ultramarines to round those up to 9.
The Hounds To Do List
Very easy, only issue will be timing from Conquest.
3 Inceptors, which I'll have when my next subscription arrives as I've picked 2 sprues up already, 5 Reivers to make them up to a squad of 10 and the mk4 Chaplian.
The Star Leopards To Do List
Captain in n Gravis armour, Ancient, 2 Lieutenants, 10 Intercessors, 5 Hellblasters and if I'm able to find enough a Redemptor Dreadnought.
The Lion's Blades To Do List
10 Storm Bolters Terminators, not sure if I want these to be normal or something else, the Primaris Apocathary, the Primaris Chaplian, the captain in Cataphractii amour, the Rhino and the Captain and Lieutenants from the Dark Imperium box will be painted and depending on what I'm able to afford 2 more Redemptor dreads and fingers crossed for a couple of Repulser tanks at least. If finances allow there's a Vindicator, Whirlwind and a couple of the jet fighters as well but I think some of that might get bumped to 2020, along with the Harlequins Skyweavers that I need.
The armoury doors were thrown open this morning and my tanks were let out in the dank, grey light of day. This was assembled with the 7th edition Hammer Of Caliban formation in mind, I still want another Vindicator and a Whirlwind, just for completeness.
2nd Company.
I'm still thinking about getting another 2 Nephilim at some point, with Conquest giving us land speeders I'm hoping to get 3 for a second squadron this one to support the Talon master, the bikes again I'm hoping to get 3 sets to get a full squadron of 8 with the attack bike that comes with it for a total of 4 squadrons. If I'm able to get more bikes I'll eventually get enough bikes to get them supporting squadrons as well.
1st Company.
I was a bit brutal and scrapped several of my conversions this has left me with 45 Terminators in total, 5 with lightening claws, and 40 bolter Terminators, I'm thinking 10 plastic Cataphractii to round that up to 50, which I can see happening this year, the 45 assault Terminators will hopefully get some reinforcements but I honestly think that those will be bumped to 2020.
Not quite finished yet, but the terrible light that I did have has passed, so I called it a night after getting the Harlequins, Exodites, and some of the power armour armies base lined for this year and some plans on what comes next this year, I've just got the tank and Terminators boxes left to go through when we get some weak, grey sunlight again tomorrow.
