Captain America Civil War

The 29th of April passed and I did my usual, I went off to Manchester Printworks and watched Captain America Civil War. This is a brilliant film, the fight scenes are very well done and the villain has a very good reason for doing what he is doing and the story actually works, it doesn't feel like a film over 2 hours long when sat watching it. It is a little light on laughs when put up against the other films but that is the story.
Spider Man and Ant Man both are good, Aunt May is HOT by the way...

THE DOCTOR IS ON CALL

Friday 29 April 2016

The Solar Auxilia were the elite infantry of the Imperium, fighting alongside the Space Marine Legions as the Great Crusade pushed onward. Though their regiments were made of the best trained and equipped men, they were only human, and required the skill of the Medicae to tend their wounds and hold disease at bay.

Today we release a new member of the Horus Heresy Character Series – Solar Auxilia Surgeon-Primus Aevos Jovan & Medicae Orderlies. Aevos Joven was the most accomplished doctor in the ranks of the Solar Auxila, and his skill saved many lives. Aided by his Auto-gurney and Medicae Orderlies, you can put those skills to use in battle, shielding your units from harm with automatically passed Feel No Pain rolls, or even restoring lost wounds to your commanders.

More Painting!

While I was waiting for other stuff to dry, the post man dropped off a couple of packets, the Eldar heavy weapons and a BaC Contemptor.

Made a start by priming both sprues, finishing off a can of Halfords Plastic Primer in the process. I also picked up the Tarantulas from Space Crusade and my black spray paint as well.

I sprayed all 3 of the support weapons as well as the chuck black, as I will be putting the Contemptor into the Knights of Blood.

As storage hasn't treated my other Chucks too well this will give me a chance to put both back together alongside the plastic chap and do a side by side and weapon swop to see how the plastic options look on the resin minis.

The Mk2 and Mk3

As I've been working 13/14 hour days for the last week I may have been a little bit naughty and taken these 2 in to work to prime them today.

Kinmount, Master of the 8th Company with counts as Monster Slayers Of Caliban, when he isn't being my 3 point objective marker.

And the mk2, I haven't got a name yet or decided if this one will be a Master or just tucked into the army somewhere as an easter egg if it's not being utilised as my 2 point objective marker.

Official Announcement For The Fliers

The top image comes from the Warhammer 40k Facebook page.

The rest are the leaks.

If this had come out first I feel the Storm Talon wouldn't have had such a negative responce.

Forge World Bulletin 25th of April 16

Monday 25 April 2016
EXCLUSIVELY DEADLY!

There are plenty of reasons to go to one of our great events like Warhammer Fest; the seminars; hobby demonstrations; fun activities; and, of course, exclusive models.

I’ve just got hold of the event exclusive model that’ll be released at Warhammer Fest, and it’s stunning! Take a look…

In Cataphractii Terminator Armour, and wielding a Thunder Hammer and what looks very much like a combi-volkite weapon, this model is going to make an imposing and characterful commander in a lot of armies soon!

You’ll be able to get hold of him for the first time at Warhammer Fest, so get your tickets now!
So for me I did get paid eventually and have bought my bits for the 2 Captains

I have also bought a BaC Contemptor and I will be looking at doing a side by side comparison with the 2 Forge World ones I have, this is planned to be painted for the Knights Of Blood.

Puun Peikko Wood Land Guardian.

Leg day done, assembly more or less complete, just after a scatter laser for the lower left arm as I envision this in an anti horde roll.

Hopefully painting will get done next week, will be another tree style paint job.

Change Of Plan

As I've not been paid I've changed my plan on what I'm doing this month,

Yesterday I magnetised the various arms on the newly named Puun Peikko, which is Finnish for wood troll, I've moved the magnet on the Shuriken cannon, given ot's upper left arm a couple of splinter rifles and magnetised that and the sword arm and added a magnet on the lower left arm to attach the 2nd big gun to.

Today I worked on the head.

Tree man bits to add some wood

I also added one of the chest plates to the head as well to save on green stuff mostly and I used one of the faces as well for it, as this kit is still in production I'm confident that I'll be able to buy another when I get round to doing the Knight, as I've started doing this I plan to use more of the bits off the kit on the legs and arms of this mini.
Tomorrow is leg day guys.

For Beakie Week

For the 30th anniversary of Space Marines I dug out my old marines

One of the prototype Terminator Armours, painted for my 1st Company and will be my 5 point objective marker.

Not quite oldhammer, Cypher. 6 point objective marker.

An old shoulder mounted multi melta marine and one of the early Librarians

The one and only plastic beakie and a metal Sgt.

Public Service To

I'd noticed a figure in the ginnel out back a couple of weeks ago and left it thinking it's one of the kids round here, tonight it turned up in the steps up and out of my yard, so I had a look, it had lost an arm and the base which has his feet, which got me thinking how does it stack up against the other base human minis I have.

So from the left;
Black Scorpion Miniatures Medic Girl, changed her M16 to a las rifle, basic Guardsman, Imperial Officer, Distopia Wars American Officer and an American Civil War sniper that was found in my old gaming club bits box.
EDIT after a Google search I'm not sure if it is an Imperial Assault officer but I'm unaware of any other game that has star wars figures.
2nd Edit The Imperial Officer appears to be from a very basic game where you try to knock the Imperials over with a wheeled space ship, hence the very basic style.

These are Imperial Officers from the Imperial Assault game.

Tech Support 40k Style

For the 30th Birthday for the Marines I'm posting my beakie Tech Marine, converted to have the full servo harness.

The Tech Marine with the Conversion Beamer is now in my Knights Of Blood, and the Iron Priest conversion is in The Lion's Blades, what strikes me is how much smaller the mini is than the current 'Codex' Tech Marine.

And lastly we have all 3 of the Tech Marines for the Lion's Blades, 1 of the original Tech Marines from RT, a scratch build from various kits and the converted Iron Priest.

Started On The Towering Destroyer Style Wraith Lord

With some time on my hands I made a start on the Towering Destroyer Wraith Lord, yes I know that that was a Knight Class bit I don't have the cash to buy the kits to make one Knight sized and I have plenty of Wraith Lord bits laying around.
I started by trimming the hips off and cutting the pelvis back to a similar angle as the head plate and have green stuffed this in place.

I plan on using these 2 arms on this photo, as to the other 2 arms; one are going to have a couple of Shuriken catapults mounted on to the wrist and the other will be magnetised for the rest of the big guns.

Normal Poxy Service Will Resume Shortly

I've had a bit of a shit week this week, as I've said, and shown with the monthly vow, I get paid on the 12th of the month or the first working day after that. Well this week I didn't get paid, my wage after working 250 hours wasn't computed or entered into the system at the London office, leaving me in a hole and feeling sick with worry and dread. After getting hold of my manager I was forwarded some cash so at least the bills have been paid this month and I'm not going to get the bailiffs round just yet. So as you can imagine with no spare cash, this months vow is getting altered ever so slightly, first off I'm not buying the mk2 and mk3 minis I had planned to buy this month, I will be finishing the mk4 though. I can also keep on target with the bikes and Terminators I just need to get some more glue to get those 10 re-based. Plan A is 3 bikes painted then squad markings on the 3 squads this gives me and their attack bikes and land speeders, then go over the Terminators, bounce the scratch builds that just don't work and re-base 2 of the 5 marine squads. And then locate my Cypher mini which seems to have gone missing... Any updates are posted on my Facebook page Poxy Proxies Chop Shop Page before I get them up on here so as to save on my data allowance.

Exarch For My Counts As Shadow Spectors

I had meant to post this yesterday but I had a bit of a nightmare with the company I work for.

I started by giving the stone and the mini a karahk stone base coat. I gave the ruin and the gun a sepia wash and the Death Jester an oxide wash.
I mixed up some Fang grey with lotherian blue.

When they were both dry I dry brushed the ruin and gun with screaming skull as well as giving the stone a dry brush as well as giving it a nuln oil wash.
I also gave the Jester a white dry brush, as well going over the gems on the cannon with blood for the blood god.
