Lazy And Ugly Kit Bash

Okay it's been bugging about how lazy that ship kit bash is, so this morning I bought the a micro machine yt1300 very cheaply, I was also looking at the streamrunner class ship for the Star Trek Attack Wing, but only got the Eaglemoss ship in my ebay search, which means the scale will be out, so no hack and slash kit bash on this one.

So hopefully before new year I'll be able to show the Falcon class escort ship...

Green Roading

I finished these off today. I've spent a few days looking at the Invader and Ridge Runner and I think I've worked out what it is about them, the Ridge Runner is designed as an off roader from the ground up, the Invader is/was filling a hole that the attack bike will leave when it's retired and very past it's sell by date.

If I was to redesign this one, and it suffers from the same problem the Storm Talon does, is its not long enough, I'd like to extend the front wheels a bit, add the ridge runner suspension and something to cover the driver, yes he has armour but better to have extra protection.

Okay the issues with using the ridge runner in a marine army is it's cab isn't large enough to get an armoured marine in or 2.

Over all I'd go with the Ridge Runner over the Invader. I think that I'll pick up both again next month and see if I can get those wheels on that chassis.

WIP 22nd /11 / 2020

Had a nice easy day today, painting the Mortal Realms Cairn Wraith as well as putting an Invader ATV and Ridge Runner.

I did the usual ushabati bone base coat then gave the robes a coat of Blzck Templar contrast, and highlighted that with graduation of greys. The bones had an athonian camoshade wash, as did the shaft after a coat of bark brown.

I also built the Invader, an okay kit in and of itself, tiny issue is the ammo packs need a bit of work to get them to fit, but it needs something, I don't know what that something is...

I got so wrapped up in making the Ridge Runner I forget to take photos, it was more fun to put together than the Invader was for me, your experience may vary.

I've magnetised the main gun options to the hatch and the auto bolt rifles are currently blue tacked into place.

I'm thinking of putting the Chaplain on bike together tomorrow, I'm now going to cook tea.

Scinari Cathallar

Well no, not this time, this is the Star Player Shadow Seer The Greiving Mother.

I have been putting this off for a while now, worry about being able to pull it off.

I started off with an ushabati bone base coat.

I then used the deep oath flesh contrast paint on the legs, face and hands.

I honestly will be using this one again, I really like how it looks.

Before going over everything with a coat of pallid witch flesh.

Before going over that with a white Scar highlight.

The hair got a base coat of yeril yellow, a reikland flesh wash then a highlight of flash git yellow.

The base was done to match the Wraith bone of other bases.

The only thing left to do is an oxide wash on over the base.

Yes I have left the front part of the head gear / crown / fanciest of hats off as I know that will break off in storage, the same as the brazier isn't glued together either.

The Doctor Is In

The Doctor will see you plague rats now.

This is really nice mini to paint, bit fiddly with assembly. I wouldn't glue the spider arm back pack in place if I was transporting this on a regular basis.

I started with the usual ushabati bone base coat, and then 4 coats of agrax earthshade for the leather look, then a layer of steel Legion drab, then a highlight of 50/50 steel Legion drab and screaming skull.

The pack has a black base coat then leadbleacher then brass Scorpion in some areas.

The syringes are the same, minus the black base coat.

The skull got a layer of screaming skull then a wash with agrax earthshade.

Eye lenses are picked out with evil sun scarlett.

The question is have the heavy metal team used my techniques on the studio mini?

Progress On the Rogue Doctor

Had a fairly relaxed day, got the doctor base coated with ushabati bone then the cowl and gloves got a black templar coat and the body got 4 coats of agrax earthshade.

I later gave it a highlight with Steel Legion brown, and then a 50/50 mix of steel Legion and brown and ushabati bone.

Still think that heavy metal used my technique for their doctor...

Monthly Vow 12th Of November To The 14th of December

 So How Did It Go?

Close actually, I did order the Invader ATV and Chaplain on bike but still waiting for those to land.

I did get the Necromunda Rogue Doctor yesterday along with the Forge World Compendium, alongside the Astartes Codex part of the plan is to update the The Lion's Blades army list this month.

The Necromantic Horror Blood Bowl team is up for pre order this weekend, which I'll be getting and painting for the coworker.

The rest of the plan is mostly going to be Mortal Realms, with hopefully the last 3 Blade Guard getting done this month.

Review Time

First up was the Azyrite ruin, again I didn't really have much motivation this month, and with switching to days time isn't a friend.

Again this one is for the coworker.

I dropped a step in the painting process, just going with the Averland sunset base coat and reikland flesh wash before layering the yellow for the sun rise look which is pretty good on this one, just need to remember that only the trim is gold on those paldrons for this army.

Mine and the youngest pumpkin carvings this year.

I did get another of the Black Scorpion Plauge Doctor minis, it is a pleasure to paint this one, like everything I've done from Black Scorpion miniatures.

And lastly was the Night Haunt Re-enforcement from Mortal Realms.
