Retro

Was rooting through a box looking for a bike rider I know I have and found my ancient assassin and a couple of others that are going into my Guard Army that always seems to get pushed back. Mystic Libby fom Hasslefree Miniatures with a chain sword rather than a force sword as I plan to use her as my priest and a conversion of the Forge World Tallaren Tank commander to give him feet, not sure what I plan to use him as.

Forging Ahead

Had a wonderful coach ride up to Preston today as we're still not allowed trains on our railway line at weekends because they're still upgrading the line to electric, only a couple of years over schedule as I'm sure my oldest was supposed to have been able to use the new trains at the end of her Masters degree, she's been in China for 3 years now. . .
On track , so got home and my last squad for the February vow had arrived! I've now got everything I need for next month's Vow , there's 20 mk4 marines, 10 Intercessors, 5 Hellblasters and 6 Inceptors. The Hellblaster squad and Inceptor squads are going to be black for my DA Successor Chapter. 10 of the mk4 are going to match the captain I painted this month and one of the remaining squads is going to be Mentors Chapter colours, thinking the Primaris squad which leaves one squad open. I'm thinking of painting these 10 to match the yellow and grey dread, and possibly re painting one of the others in Mentors Chapter colours.

I started this the other day, a bit of a joke project after I read some fan fiction in 40k For Grown Ups and my own interpretation of Poppa Smurf's reaction to the Primaris and Rowboat re writing the Codex Astartes.

Inquisitor Deckard

I've had this mini for a while and it's been sat doing nothing, and with the nebulous idea to do an Inquisition army I decided to use this as my commander.
The idea behind this army is a task force tracking down a rogue element of the Knights of Blood that seems to have been either not got the message to go to Baal, ignored it, or just couldn't get there, even with the wibbly wobbly, timey whimmy dilatation that occurred there. This character is based loosely on both Decca from The A Team and Deckard from Blade Runner, hence the over sized plasma pistol.

Assault Squad For The Hounds

I started this squad a while ago by base coating the squad with ushabati bone and a nuln oil wash.
Last night I got the 2 coats of white done.
Tonight I got the blue and other detail colours on as well, rather than go with a full helmet I added various yellow strips to the helmets to follow the codex.
Lastly I did the condenser coils in a bright blue with a white wash to try and represent the heat involved with Plasma.

20/01/18 WIP

Trying a version of the old purist squads for the Captain for the Ordo Astartes strike force. Captain is still roughed up, going to fix him together tonight.
The squad has had 2 coats of white, will do the blue tomorrow night.
The Hasslefree Miniatures Andrea has had the plasma pistol added, I'd already cut her original pistol off and fitted a bolt pistol so I broke that off and added the Primaris plasma pistol from the cyborg arm that I am using on the captain, I'd replaced that with a spare Cypher plasma pistol that I had.

2nd New Toy Today

2 new toys in one day! New phone with all sorts of stuff on the camera the front camera is 13 mega pixel for crying out loud, the back camera has a 3d option.
So first photos with my spanking new camera, and cropped down a bit. Open to suggestions on which head to use and will cut the bunny ears off the Khorne berserker head if I use that one. I also found a Cypher plasma pistol that I think I'll use on the arm and use that Primaris plasma pistol on the Inquisitor.

New Toy

The light around here has been bad for months so I bought a light box. Might need to add some stronger magnets to the sides though.

Road Trip!

I was very kindly allowed to borrow the Wigan GW 40k table for 10 minutes today, after spending nearly an hour chatting and buying some paints.
The Björn project, now to wait for my Ordo Chronos Inquisitors to get finished.

At Least I Didn't Collapse The Universe

This took a couple of hours to set up and dismantle and I took so long several of the Dreads fainted and a couple have  broken ankles so not everything is upright.
There's 69 dreads on the board and not much room for many more.
There's been suggestions that I take this and progress to a company's worth of Dreadnoughts , which I've, frankly, balked at and that's not just because I've made a vow to not buy any dreads this year, but there's storage issues as well.

Base Line For The Lion's Blades 1st and 2nd Company

Still working on my base lines for this year ,  I got out my 1st and 2nd Company, as well as my Dreads, all 69 of them, posting up tomorrow.
Onto the 1st Company, no plans to do anything with these, although I do now have 2 Tartarus Terminators spare.
My 2nd Company, minus the Nephilim.
With the move to 8th my bike squads are now under strength, so the plan is 2 bikes for each squadron and as the Land Speeder squadron can  now be taken in 5s I'll be adding 2 more of these, and maybe replace the demigryphs with bikes at some point. Will get at least one of the easy build versions and one of the full versions to compare the experience of working with them. The 6 bikes I will trust to ebay to provide, although I have found 2 bikes while I've been going through boxes the last few days, so I only need 4 bikes.
