One Worked, One Didn't...

Today I tried something new and something again, the new was the bendy ammo feeds on the Vorax. It didn't go to well and I broke one and have decided to get the flexible resin belts from Zinge Industries for these.
I went back to the snow base material, this time I mixed pva and white paint and applied that to the base, then dusted the bases with snow.

These look a lot better than my first attempt.

Fire Dragons

Took a break from the Vorax for the last 2 nights.

First off I gave them a bath and had a roll of £5 for the stripping...

Before I put them back on their bases I put some green stuff down as I plan on trying the snow effect material again on these guys and with their feet in the green stuff it should look like they are standing in the snow. Hopefully.

I used a base coat of the sunset yellow on the helmets over a base coat of screaming skull.

Then a coat of orange .

Tonight I gave it a nuln oil wash

Then some spot details with green.

Before giving the bases a white dry brush.
Will try the snow effect after I've got some sleep tomorrow...

Blade Runner

Every now and then I throw something up a bit different, leaked photos, stuff that I've done, random things. Well this post is one of those, over the last few weeks I've seen concept art for the next Blade Runner film and I quite like the look of it, so I'm going to share it here.

Vorax Battle Robot

Beware, this may be a sign of the end times; I started on the Vorax last night.

I got the feet the wrong way round

The legs are rather fiddly to put together, and when the body is mounted on the hip joint it does look like the weapon mounts will be blocked by the legs but it doesn't.

And with me messing up the foot I had to find something to put under there as support, I was looking for some slate but I could only find a hatch that came from a Mk1 Rhino.

Gunned up, although I'm waiting till I finish the other 2 before I fit the bendy ammo feeds to them.
Yes this was a bugger to put together but it is a lovely little kit.

Who Knew I Had A 30k Army Ready To Roll.

Was chatting with guys I'd gone down to Warhammer World with the other day about 30k and one of them mentioned the 30k Rite Of War that let's you take a full Dreadnought army. Couldn't pass that up now could I?

16 Dreads on the table with Techmarine and Apothecary.

Using these as counts as a Contemptor Mortis Talon.

Will use these as a Casterferrum Mortis Talon.

A Casterferrum Talon.

A Contemptor Talon, plan to wait for the DA Contemptor to finish thisTalon off

A Crusade era Casterferrum Talon

A Venerable Caseterferrum Talon, again I'm planning to add one more to this one.
And the HQ of a RT era Techmarine. I plan to buy a Crusade era Apothecary so the current Apothecary can go back to his normal army.

Warp Spider Exarch WIP

So got a touch done on this last night.

Progress

I packed some glue for this one!
I have 2 different builds of this and I'm going to show them in reverse order of which I'm probably going to build.

Not only did the doner give it's jump pack and death spinners it also gave it's arms.
In the end I feel this is over crowded, it might work if I had some of the DE Wytch punch dagger arms spare but for now it really doesn't work.

The Warp Spider Exarch arms in the shoulders with these arms it kind of looses the dynamic look I was after.

So unless I can find 2 punch daggers before work and considering I want to get a few more hours of sleep that's unlikely this is the build I'm going with; twin linked death spinners and Drahzar arms in the shoulder sockets. I just wish I hadn't lost the clawed fiend skull...

Prior Preperation Prevents Poor Performance

The Drahzar model arrived yesterday morning and I found out it's fine cast...
So I dug out the metal one from the Harlequins box and will use that and paint the fine cast one like the metal one.
So last night I found I had no glue so the only thing I could do was blu tack the jump generator and twin spinners on the back and most annoying of all I lost the skull I was going to use for the face plate.
Had better nights.
