Need A Bigger Table

My whole collection on my coffee table, I think I'm going to need a bigger coffee table
And these 2 show the Lions Blades 3rd Battle Company, 8th Assault Company, Command structre and the Lions Blades 1st Company with 50 Terminators so far, 45 shooty and 5 with Lightning Claws
This will form the coreof my Chaos force, the old Necrons will be Chaos Androids. The Guard will be Skittarii Legion and won't be to Chaosie as I'll want to use them as allies for both sides
And finally my next project the Corsair Eldar.

Enforcers

Here we have the 5 Enforcers for Gadens Skittarii, these guys are mostly made from Space Marine Scout bits. The lady in the long coat is Hasslefree Miniaturs Andreah.

The others are 3 objectives I've made from injured , what I think is, zulus on the gw cavlery base and the big guy at the top is another Hasslefree Mini, their Steam Punk Warrior with a Necron Cryptek head from the Scorerer conversion I did and a twin linked bolter

Gadens Androids

Sooo, thanks to Faeit212 for the pics here.

Well that was a busy weekend for Necron leaks and as a result of that my plans have been altered once again. Looking at what has been leaked I'm planning on taking this army on and buiolding a force that can be played in, at least 3 ways. Looking through my pile of Codices at home I found the Dark Angels again and remembered an odd itme from it, that Scouts are an Elite choice, seeing the guys below I thought I could use them as Scouts with sniper rifles right off. Next off was the idea I had from both my Iron Warriors and Gadens Skittarii of using bionics to replace limbs, as my Iron Warrior Possessed, if/when, I get round to getting them are going to be mostly bionics with Marine Torso, Head and Backpack and sometimes not even head.So these guys could well be fielded as Flayed Ones I thought without too much in the way of explaining to do about it.

So planning for this I can play this army 3 ways-
1 as Loyal 'Marines' from the Dark Angels
2 as Chaos Marine
3 as your actual Necrons. I know me playing an army from a Codex with no conversion work!

I'm really looking forward to the release of the Codex, although I'm going to have to wait till Christmas to get my copy of it and after christmas till I can start buying any models for this army as well. But I feel that I can wait for that, just hope my talent is up to the project!

Colours.

Well here I am after a big weekend for the Necron players with a random post of my own about colour schemes.
When I started back in 40K a couple of years ago I wanted a scheme that was easy to paint and look good, this became the basic colours for the XIX Chpater, as I got better at painting again I got better I expanded on what I could do and tried different things and have ended up with a, what I think, is a good scheme but allows a lot of variation to be done. As I went on my next project was a Daemon Hunter Force, but when the new Codex came out this was ditched and the models reassigned to variuous new projects, some went into the XIX as the Assault Troopers and others became the back bone of my Iron Warriors and Knights of Blood. The Terminators from my Daemon Hunters where kind of left without a home till I started thinking of doing a Corrupted Sisters of Battle Army, but I had to wait till the Dark Eldar Wytches came out till I could get teh heads that I wanted to give them the right look. The colour of the Lady stayed the same from minute one, but I did end up repainting the whole lot of them black at one point before I changed my mind and went with the yellow with a purple wash over it. The next 2 projects came along at the same time as a result of the re-shuffle I'd had when the Daemon Hunter Codex came out and freed up somewhere around 80 miniatures, I was rather godsmacked by how many I actually had and split them right down the middle, with the more dynamic stances going into the Knights of Blood, the Furioso Librarian Dreadnought is shown below and the static botler across the chest persent arms stance being used in the Iron Warriors. There wasn't a lot of variation allowed in the colour schemes of htese 2 armies but as my skills heve progressed I feel, oddly, better able to go and make a job of the limited palette allowed by these 2 'named' units. Once again here is my Contemptor Class Dreadnought. When I'm getting more money in I will be buying more of these. And lastly we have Gadans Skittarii, this will be split into 2 forces, one of Androids and one Skittarii which will be made from a mix of Catachan, Zombies and any Necron spare limbs I get from my next project which will be Gadens Android Force. For the Skittarii I could only go with one colour for the Mechanised Infantry really. I did a few trail colours and the combined platoon is yellow jacket under blue armour with any colour helmet, boots and pants, as I delieve in making it look like this force is picking up bits and pieces along the way to replace worn out and damaged kit. I may just change the jacket colour yet to match the Mechanised Infantry. The Mechanised Infantry are being painted up with, and if you know me you'll understand this, brown coats. I couldn't in all good faith go with any other choice for these guys.
The Androids have thier own colours of metalic and mechrite red shoulder plates. With the newer Necron kits coming out more of the may need a repaint to bring them in line with what the others are.

Mechanised Infantry part 2

This is a picture of my Mechanised Infantry for Gadens Skittarii, they are an elite choice in the renegade army list they are Deciples of Xaphan. In the as well as the squad is the Enforcer armed with a Power Fist and Plasma Pistol who along with the Veteran, the Android looking model next to the Enforce made from the Space Marine Scout, are designed to take out armour. Just need a Chimera now to transport them in. This army ahas left me thinking now that I may need to split my Android force from my Skittarii Force and have an extra army as the Marine/ Android elements are now not allowed ion the positions I have them in.
Yes I know, another dirty hack job and photo, this photo maybe a double of one.

Mechanised Infantry

This is my first squad for Gadens Skittarii. The list I am using is from the Forge World Siege of Vraks which is a variant Imperial Guard Army list which makes this squad in a standard Guard Army Stormtroopers, but in the Vraks list means they are Disciples, with my army being a Renegade Skittarii force I'm making them more mechanical than man. To do this I've dug through my bits box and come up with a number of skele and zombie bits as well as a necron head and a pair of Andriod legs from Space Crusade ( I was hopeing to use these for a conversion for a Space Marine but the stance was just wrong,).
The unit itself is basic enough, just head and arm swops and the plasma guns are actually melta guns, as I've currently run out of meltas, the rest of the squad are armed with pistols and close combat weapons and will be lead by an Enforcer with a Power Fist and my Andriod/skele torso and armed, Necron headed conversion that was only made after I'd taken the photo.

Total Points of The Reavors Warband.

Had a couple of hours this evening, so sat down with my army lists and my collection to see how much in total I've actually got.
One full company of Chaos Space Marines with 4 HQ choices, 7 Elite choices, 4 Heavy Support choices, 3 Fast Attack choices and 6 Troop choices totalling 4632 points.

The Black Sisters, my elitest section so far and will carry on being so till the rumored plastics arrived, have 2 HQ choices and 3 Elite choices, 1 squard of Chosen and 2 squads of Terminators totalling 1133.

Hudsen Gaden army totals 1911 which includes the Poxy Proxy Banehammer.

The Iron Warriors have 2 HQ choices, 2 Elites choices including the Contemptor, 3 Havoc squads and 4 Troop choices, totaling 2070.

My Knights of Blood have 3 HQ choices, my metal Terminator Librarian, a scratch built Terminator with Lightning Claws and a scratch built model to represent Gabriel Seth. The 2 Elites are a Sternguard Squad and my Furioso Librarian with 4 Troops, 2 Tactical Squads and 2 Assault Squads, totaling 1890 points.

Lastly there is my Khorne Berzerkers which has only 3 units 1 Lord with Daemon Weapon, Plasma Pistol mounted on a sword and a jump pack with twin linked bolters mounted on it and 2 5 man Berzerker squads with Rhino Transports, totaling 640 points.

All told this little lot rocks up at 321 models and 12276 points with more to be added. Think I'm going to need more storage soon. Because of 6th Ed and natural evoluation of ideas this isn't how my armies look now.

Plan for Gadens Skittarii

My plan for Gadens Skittarii is to have a body guard of Terminators, converted from Necron Priahas. Now should I take the risk and hold off buying the metal mini I like to see if I the look of the new replacement? Worse comes to the worse and I don't like it I can keep my eye's on ebay for the one I want.

Gadens Skittarii

These 2 photos are the painted straight of my Skittarii Force so far, as you can see they are a mix of Space Crusade Androids, mostly bought off ebay, and a collection of 1st edition Necrons. The top photo shows the 2 Havocs, the Terminators and Hudson Gaden at the front. The bottom photo shows the 2 troops for this army, both a mix of the 1st edition Necrons and Androids with the 2 tech marines added to the squads as AC's, with the Skittarii commander hiding away at the back I'm still working on the rest of his command squad. So dirty hack job here. Going through some old posts I see I've lost some photos, so as I find them I'll look through my g+ photos and look to sed if I have another photo to update the post.

Print Offs

Okay that isn't mine, as you can tell from the paint job, but it is a Banesword though. I've printed off the Datasheet for the Banesword and the blank datasheet as well, I'll be filling that out on Sunday while the F1 cars go round and round an island in the St. Laurence river. Just one minor problem with that is I don't have the Space Wolf Codex to get the rule for Bjorn The Fell Handed I'd like to add to the P P B, Knowes Fury, to represent the feeling that Gaden and The Iron Warriors towards this massive War machine

The Poxy Proxy Banesword has been named as well, well in actuallity I've kept the old name it had and will in retrospect be renaming the Sgts in the XIX Chapter with the old Border Reivers names that I had used in the first place when they where a Loyalist Chapter. This fits with the nick name of the XIXth being The Reivers.

For those of you that don't know the Border Reivers where a group of families that where pretty much at war with England, Scotland and each other from about when the Romans left to when England and Scotland where united at the death of Queen Elizabeth the First. Although the offical story says the Reiving time only really started about 1200ish, there are stories of raids and attacks on villages and cattle going back to the 400AD all the way up to Unity of the Crowns of England and Scotland and a bit beyond, but the Crown did what it always did with the trouble makers, recuritedthem into the army feed and armed them and then sent them off to for King and Country.

Gaden's Enforcers

I've slowed down a touch this week to give myself the chance to do some work on my army. This week I've mostly been working on the Enforcers for Gadens Skittarii as with the army list I'm using the standard troops have a randomly determined leadership and the Enforcers have a leadership of 10. As talked about before these guys I'm building/painting are basically Marine Scouts with bolt pistol, shotgun and a power weapon. Photo to follow.

Tuesday, 17 May 2011

These 2 are my fromerly Necron Pryiahs converted to counts as Terminators. The warscyth has been cut off and a sword blade added to what was left of the heft and a twin linked bolter and storm shield has been added to each model.

Gaden and Chosen

Top is my Forge World Titan Tech Priest, painted up in the Rouge Trader colours for the Mechanicus. Bottom is my Chaos Chosen of Slannesh, made from from Dark Eldar Wytches with some Space Marine weapons. The Champion is made from a Blood Bowl Amazon with a Lizard Man head, 2 blades to make Lightning Claws and a heavy flames Sisters on Battle back pack.

Top is the minor conversion on an Iron Wolf Tech Priest. Axe head instead of hammer, plasma pistol added to the heft and a combi-weapon. Sharp eyed my notice that the flamer is on upside down and the nozzle has had to of been cut off and turned over.

Middle is my scratch built Tech Priest from a Scout Marine body and legs, Tau Firewarrior head, Tech priest back pack, misslie loader arm with a rhino misslie lanucher control pack and a twin chainsword.

Top is the 'new' wings on my Slanneshi Sorceress. This is the only change from the standard model.
Bottom is the rear view of my Mechanicus Lord that doesn't really show the quills, have to try this one again in better light. Any one any idea when this rain is going to stop?

Rouge Mechanicus Lord, Now Needs A Re-work

This is the one I'm most proud of my Rouge Mechanicus Lord, treated as a Chaos Lord in the Codex, at the core of the model is the Blood Bowl Wraith, to this I've added a Necron Lord arm to give him 3 arms, spent ages looking for another arm I could use but in the end just gave up, 3 short curved blades and with the knuckle duster on the other hand that makes paired lightning claws, the twin linked bolter is an ork shooter that I've cut up, filed down and added 2 bloter mags to the top of and attached to the 3rd arm after removing the wrist. The hand i cut off and then mounted the wrist and forearm guard on the shoulder as a plasma pistol. I've since added some Kroot head quills to the back of the helmet.

Shiny!

This post should of been up yesterday, but I had an emergency phone call at 3pm and had to get to the bank double quick to sort out my friends bank and then it's time for tea and all that.

As has been discussed I'm working on a Renegade Army right now with Android support, well I was in town the other day walking past a Charity shop when I saw some 28mm metal robots I thought they look cool, lets have a closer look. Went into the shop and it turns out they are Rouge Trader era Necron Warriors, £5 lighter I walk out of the shop with them in a bag. Didn't tell the woman in the shop that the models in question are probably worth far more than that. Above you can see the 3 models in the range, I've turned one round so as to show the light blue wash I've done on the spine to denote the power supply. And with some judicious ebaying I've picked up 10 of the Space Crusade plastic Androids for a total of £4 and when is all said and I'll have 2 squads of 10 Chaos Androids, lead by Techmarines, armed with 2 melta guns.

Next step for this army is going to be the Troops, Elites, Tanks and Bikes which are going to cost money. Ebay here I come.

Not Excatly Plan A

Seems I'm having to change my plan for my Lost and Damned army as the Codex I was taking it from is no longer a game legal book. Thankfully I now have the updated list taken from Imperial Armoury Book, and with a little bit of a re jig this army is still a goer.

Basic Change is it's now, at it's core, a Renegade Imperial Guard Regiment (Mechanicus Skitarii in this case), so with that in mind I've shifted the 3 made models around, the Titan Tech Priest is now the main HQ choice, the Iron Father and the self made Tech Priest model will be leading a squad of Androids each in an allied role to the main troops choices.

Fast Attack options are going to be Sentinels the Android Attack Bikes, when made, and either a Hellhound or pay for a squadron of the Salamander Scout tanks from Forge World.

My Heavy Support is limited to 1 tank, 1 artillery piece and a Heavy Weapon Company. So I'm taking a Leman Russ Vanquisher and a Hydra Flak Tank with a some heavy weapons teams as well.

Elites will be fun, I get to convert a few Ogres to make them 40K, plan will be to get a box of Ironguts and play around with them to see what I can get and maybe a Maneater as well to top them off. As well as this unit I'm taking the an elite squad of Guards and putting them in an APC with one of the Enforcers attached to the squad to give them some heavy hitting close combat power. And lastly I'm adding my Android Terminators as allied elites, in the army list it gives you the option of having a Marine squad as elites, but I prefer the allies and taking them where they should be.

The Enforcers I've mentioned will most likely be made out of Space Marine Scouts as they come with the option of buying them Carapace Armour, and 5 of those is cheaper than 5 Commissars will be, or Arbitras for that matter.

And the troops choice is going to be a mix of Catachan Jungle Fighters, Zombie and Skeletons to represent the mechanised nature of the troops. Plan is to have one combined platoon with heavy weapons and to sit them on any objective I have in my deployment zone and 3 Armoured Fist Squads to zip forward, and with the elite unit, capture any that I can, I may just add a heavy weapon or 2 to these squads, I'll have to play with them first and see how well this army woks in it's natural state

Gaden and Plans

Hi there long time no update, but as I'd finished my tank I took some time off, got a girlfriend and a job and now I find myself with some time on my hands again as both seem to have gone now.

So back to the project work. Well as the tank has been finished and put out there to play I've gone onto other things. Photos will be arriving over time as I work out the best way to get them off Face book that is.

My army for Warhammer 40,000 started out as a Loyalish Marines, but I've since fallen down a dark path and have added more and more Chaos additions to it and now have a much larger Chaos army than loyalist, which is good as with Chaos you get more choice. The Core army is still the same but I've added some Chaos flavour to it with the addition of some Thousand Sons, some Khorne Berzerkers and some Nurgul Havoc's. The Slaanesh are (will be when they are bought and made) my Chaos Terminators with the heads of some Dark Eldar Wyches and one squad of Chosen made from the Dark Eldar Wyches box set. I will be adding more of the Slannesh Force to my army over time as I'm making them from a corrupted Sisters of Battle Order, as I like that idea. But right now finances dictate that buying an all metal army is way way out of my price range. Fingers crossed by the time I get round to this part of my army The Games Workshop will have done plastic Sisters of Battle and this good idea will be made.

But onto what my next project will be. With the Ascension of the Leader of the Army to a Daemon Prince I've added a new Unified Chaos Lord to my Army who was leading his own army into exile in the Eye Of Terror. This is my Dark Mechanicus Lord Hudson Gaden with his appreniti and his Mechanicus Sketarri Legion Troops and, the reason he was kicked out of the Imperium, his Androids.

For this army I've already built and painted Gaden who came from the Games Workshops Bloodbowl range, as a base it's an Undead Wraith, I've added blades to one hand to give him Lightning Claws added a 3rd arm and attached a twin linked bolter to that and have shoulder mounted a plasma pistol. The great thing about a Chaos Lord is that this is legal!

Now here's the fun bit I've got a copy of The Eye Of Terror Codex from way back when and in this is a Chaos traitor army which is what Hudson Gadens army will be. As this army's HQ I've already bought and built 3 Tech Priests types. One is an almost standard Space Wolf Iron Priest, all I've done with that model is to cut the hammer that it comes with and replace it with an axe head( this guy will also be used in my loyalish Space Marine as a standard Tech Marine) He will go by the name of Jervis Babbage. Next is Jellet 'Clamps' Arrol which is the Forge World Titan Tech Priest, an expensive and finely detailed model that i feel my paint job just hasn't done justice to, but I can always go back and do it again, and it's Clamps as his tool arms come with 2 options, clamp heads or a tool head and as we'd just been watching Futurama's Into The Wild Green Yonder which does feature The Robot Mafia and Clamps I just couldn't resist it. Lastly of the 3 is Massey Jubah and head of this Army when Gaden is not around. I've made this model myself from various bits scavved from the Coppull and Chorley Knights bits box, legs and body come from a Space Marine Scout, the head is from a Tau Fire Warrior, the arms are from a Terminator and the back pack is from a Tech Priest. One arm has a twin linked bolter and the other was once a power fist that I hacked up for bits a while ago, I've glued a Dark Eldar pistol to the hand and a flamer nozzle and flamer tank to it as well to represent a cutting and a welding torch on the back pack is a double bladed Chainsword that I'm using as a Daemon weapon and I'm also classing him as wearing Terminator armour.

The rank and file troops will be made from the Catachan box set of Imperial Guard models with the addition of some skeleton bits to convey a Mechanised Infantry feel (no pun intended) with maybe one 10 man squad made up of Skeletons with Lasguns. To add to this I'm either going to find some more of the old Space Crusade Chaos Androids and use those or get a box of Necrons and give them bolters to add some Marine level firepower.

The Fast Attack Section of this army is a mish mash, I'm looking for some dogs to use as attack hounds. I'm also making some attack bikes based on the bike terminators from the film Terminator Salvation, looking forward to that project. Lastly there is a full squad of troops mounted in an APC for this squad I'm thinking of spending the extra and getting a Forge World unit as they are very cool model from there.

For the Elites I'm looking for some bionics that are Terminator sized (currently I'm using the Mega Blocs UNSC models) and I'm going to spend some cash and get some fo the Necromunder Pit Fighters to represent some Big Mutants, or maybe some Ogryns... can't make my mind up and price may play a part in this.

The Heavy Support next, I might just get a Defiler at last and and build that in the colours of this army as well as 2 Leman Russ tanks or I might splurge out on a couple of Malcadors from Forge World, to show his ,former, connections.

So there we have it photos for the done stuff will be up shortly and the other stuff will be posted as and when I get it done.

Hope you enjoy reading about this next project as much as I will making it.
