This is the vallejo desert sand I'm using for the bases of the Dreadnought army I'm using a Serpihim sepia wash on this as the agrax earthshade wash left it to dark.
Which looks okay I think need to get the yeril yellow out for High lights.

Yep target of 1 mini and I missed.
Well sort of. I did get most of the dreads sorted for the Blood Angels Dreadnought army, that I have, and the Heavy Intercessors finished.
Target.
Paint The Lion Proxy!
I have made a start there. I did buy a Nephilim/ Black Talon kit off a mate last week so build and paint that and hopefully the missile marines for this month. I did get my hands on a Leviathan box so looking forward to getting that and will add the mortis Redemptor Dread to the Dread Filled Month, which could well be stretched out here, I'd like to get the new Terminators done as well and that Librarian would be nice to add the 1st Company.
In Summary.
Paint The Lion, which I've started, Nephilim Jet fighter finished, the Leviathan box mortis dread built at least, 6 of the Terminators and a stretch goal of the missile marines.
In Review.
I started with the bases.
As well as getting some Dreads located for the 10th Edition Blood Angels Dreadnought army.
The first thing I did was start on the heavy Intercessors as I chickened out of doing The Lion.
This was sourced from ebay for the dread army just needs a clean.
The order arrived with my Contemptors, which I put together. I do like those sculpted bodies but it needs some knee pads and shoulder decoration.
And Saturday afternoon I got around to getting The Lion built at last.
The current state of it.
Trying to decide between a nuln oil or a Coelia Greenshade wash on the robe and great coat.
Got Contemptor number 3 built yesterday with moulded body and plastic kit. It would look better with at least 1 knee pad and 1 shoulder pad that was moulded.
I've still not started The Lion
This is of course going to be started with the June to July Vow.
I put the last Dreadnought Talon in their box today, as I had most the dread boxes out I grabbed a group photo of the last Talon that is going to fit in that box. That Leviathan Talon and future Deredo Talon will need a new box, handily I need some new trainers so I'll have one before it's needed.
Yes sun screen was required today.
If I'm not too drunk and focused on Eurovision I'll be starting The Lion later as I need to grab some cat food and something for me to eat, I've got a real craving for some spare ribs.
There is also the Redemptor Brutalis and an Invictor Warsuit to add to this to do list.
The cannons from the standard Contemptor box are going to be painted for the Dark Angels dreads as well as the fists.
The Blood Angels Legion Contemptor has 2 fists.
The Dark Angels Leviathan has a Siege fist and the quad auto cannons.
These 3 are the start of the 10th Edition Blood Angels Dreadnought Army. Let's just hope the Casterferrium dread hasn't been fridged/legendary.
I had pulled the Thousand Sons dread out of the box it was in and decided to strip it and repaint it as I knew I could do a better job on it now.
After a false start where it got stripped again I started with an ushabati bone base coat, then stormhost silver, followed by a seraphim sepia wash. I'd also painted a test piece Intercessors at the same time. The original plan had been to try the Apothecary white contrast, which led to me redoing the Iron Warriors dread again, to see how that would look, as the test on the power pack had looked more metallic and a lot less white than I had hoped. I went and had a rethink and tried the thinned pallid wytch flesh again which worked a lot better with the metallic base. I went over that with a dry brush of Pallid Wytch Flesh and then a light dry brush of stormhost silver.
The yellow went over the ushabati bone base coat, I gave it an Averland Sunset base, then a Carroburg Crimson wash, a layer of yriel yellow, then a Fuegan Orange wash, then a highlight of flash git yellow.
The blue shoulder had a Thousand Sons blue base with a Seraphim sepia wash then went over that with a dry brush of thousand sons blue, then a highlight of Templar Guard blue.
Gold was a retributor gold base, a reikland flesh wash a highlight layer of the lighter gold, then an edge highlight with the stormhost silver.
The iron warriors Contemptor got done in nearly a day, stripped first thing, washed, dryed and primed, ushabati bone base coat, stormhost silver coat and a seraphim sepia wash before going over that with the Apothecary white contrast.
Today I've added some nuln oil wash in some areas and some temple guard blue on some of those lenses.
The bases I'd ordered finally arrived for the Dark Angel fronted Rifleman Dreadnought, the metal mounts are slightly bigger than the the resin auto cannons had, so I had to make the hole bigger and stuck some 5x1 magnets on both sides.
Think I need another one of these bases so I can mount the 2 mk4 dreads and this one on matching bases
Yesterday once out of work I made a start by priming the above dread for The Lion's Blades, the other metal Björn dread
And the World Eaters Contemptor, although I'm missing a fist for this one.
As well as the mk2 chaos Björn
One other think I did do yesterday was to pick up a missed package from the post office which had the Juggernaut of Khorne I'd bought on ebay.
A simple snip removed the Blood Letter and I tried one of the finished Björns I've bought.
With a shift of the claw up onto the shoulder I think this will sit and fit just fine. The only thing I'm thinking of doing is swooping the sword short sword for the Khorne sword on this one.
Core GoalThe Redemptor Calgar, the Contemptor Björn, the Space Wolf dread for the White Scars, the Mk4 for the Dark Angles and the Ironclad for the Salamanders.
Stretch GoalForge World dread for the Word Bearers, metal venerable dreadnought for the Emperor’s Children and the grey resin dread for the Ultramarines.
Dream GoalThe metal standard, the plastic standard and the plastic Venerable are going to be painted for The Alpha Legion, Raven Guard, and Night Lords, not pinning myself down on any of these.
Before That MadnessSo before we get to October I've got the 3 Death Guard Dreadnoughts to paint I'm not pinning myself to a dates. And I've ordered several bits to finish off the Warden in White.
