Quad Bike Finished

 A day off was had yesterday and I got the first of the Orlock Quad bikes finished in a nice dark angel green. 

When I finished this one I took the lessons learned and started painting number 2 on the sprue so I could get all the frame work painted. 

Still several steps to go, but the wheels are magnetised and the gunners mount is push fit so that can be removed for storage. 

I got the gunner glued together and the rider is in two parts and the last thing I did before leaving for a 49 hour shift was get some agrax earthshade on the Martian Iron Crust I'd put on the bases last thing last night. 

Thursday the plan is sleeping and getting a bit drunk, fingers crossed. 

Quad Bike and Gunner

 The magnets arrived yesterday, and I got them attached to the wheels and some of the 3x0.5 on the axel hubs to join the to the bike.

The gunner was mounted on magnets as well as I glued this pillar in place and had cut it off so I could reach the back of the rider.

Hoping to get some paint on this Sunday /Monday.

Deathwing Knights

 I got my box of Terminators down to put the recently finished squad away and while it was out I got my squad of Deathwing Knights out to try a photography with the temporary set up, I also went in to the photo shop  and ordered a 12x5 aluminium plate which will come next week.

Not too sure if I'm going to get all the Lion's Blades out to photo in front of it. 

Orlock Quad Bike

 This morning before work, I started the Orlock Quad bike from the Ash Waste box. The cross arm over the shock absorbers was difficult to work out, and with the size of the headlight I can see a few of those going flying when being made. 

I finish at 10am Tuesday and hoping to get some work done on this when I get home. 

Watcher In The Dark

 Day off on the 12th, bills paid, shopping for work, booked tickets for a film on Saturday and cooked a big meal for tea. Around that I painted the Watcher that came in the Deathwing Terminators box, I used the Aethoian Camoshade wash in the same process I've used the Greenshade wash on other minis.

In the background is something I've been meaning to do for a while now, I got a photo printed off at a shop to use as a back drop for the mini photos.

Tweeked the Contrast, Brightness, Saturation and Shadows to get a more apocalyptic picture.

Added a couple of the play mats that came with Conquest /Imperium

To add a better base for photos over the coffee table/ pallet.

I am going to raid the copper jar and go back and buy a 12x5 inch version that's printed on an aluminium plate, to avoid distortion. 

Monthly Vow 12th Of May To The 12th Of June

 

The monthly vow got a few changes with the release of Ash Wastes box, the Harlequins are in the living room.

Next month's vow is looking like the Orlock buggies, as I need to get hold of the House of Iron book to organise a second gang. There is also also a Stormcast thing for a Facebook group challenge of painting with a thing with a saddle.

Purchasing plan is We Print Miniatures for another of the not a tank girl and the not Duela Dent as well as the House of Iron book.

Review Time 

First up was the found Enforcers, it felt good to get those finished, and to know I was ready to start the upcoming campaign. 

Next up was the Terminators, I need to find a replacement head for one as I've lost a robed head.

At the same time I saw an advert from We Print Miniatures for a character that looked like Tank Girl, as my youngest is a huge Tank Girl fan I bought it with the plan to paint it for her. When it arrived I liked it, and with the Ash Waste box being on it's way and her being of a similar aesthetic to the Orlocks I chose to use this one as my crew chief. 

Looking forward to seeing this gang getting done, and getting hold of the book that'll allow vehicle building rules. 

Crew Chief Helena Hans Basquiet

 

Need to reorder this one again for the youngest, there's just the base to finish and I got that started with Martian Iron Crust before I went to work this morning.

I also picked up my Orlocks from my mates house and got those 4 sprues primed yesterday, as well as a Stormcast Eternal rider. 

Deathwing Knights And Crew Chief

 Got the box of Deathwing Terminators out of the draw and yesterday and got some paint on them, at the same time I started another We Print Miniatures mini as well, this one being their "not tank girl", as my youngest is a fan. I had intended to paint it up for her, but now I'm thinking I could use her as a road crew chief for the Ash Waste Orlocks.

Started off with an ushabati bone base coat, I did the robes and tank girls hat with the colea Greenshade wash method.

The crew chief also got the agrax earthshade leather process on the pouches.

If I was passing it on to my daughter it would have the middle pants, as it's my mini now, and it has to tie into a theme I'm thinking the black pants and boots. I might have to raid her Tank Girl collection for some inspiration. And order a second one and another "not" Duela Dent and paint both comic accurate. 

Block House AV14

 On Sunday I spent a couple of hours with the found Enforcers, to get the starter gang finished.
