Monthly Vow 12th of August to the 12th of September.

 Yeah, so that run of no time off is still ongoing. By the time I get to my week of at the end of the month I will have had 5 days off since June the 28th. The wages have been great but I'm not getting a damn break, my day off is spent clearing and cooking.

Plan A at least get a couple of the Terminators built from the Space Wolf Terminators and get some practice on the paint scheme I'm using on the Satanine Preator. With some of the issues at work I'm dealing with, I'll be happy to get those done.

Not much to review

I clipped off the Satanine close combat weapons to see how they'd look on the Bjorn. Definitely better

Monthly Vow 12th of June To The 12th of July

 And it started so promisingly. In my defence I haven't had an actual day off since my last post, and my next day off is next Saturday which will mostly be catching up with the cleaning that hasn't been done.

Next month.

Check which of the Space Wolf Terminator Arms fit best on the the latest Bjorn. 

There's a 30k Dark Angel praetor to paint to finish off the Inner Circle Companions. 

With a nebulous plan to get the Satanine box and get all that done, which given the free time I've had this month is a rest of the year project. 

Review Time. 

So little progress. The only thing I managed to do last week was give it a left hand, in a lucky break I found the Dark Angels upgrade sprue and clipped the tilt shield with the sword off, and blu tacked it on the hand as a knuckle duster.

Saturday my first day off in 3 weeks once I've hoovered and mopped I'm planning on trying arms for Björn, there's a 2 handed great axe, an axe and shield and the lightning claws to try.

There's this guy for the Inner Circle Companions, and lastly there's the elephant in the room, Satanine. I've just checked my save the pennies account and I have enough the box from my local 3rd party store, I did say I'd let him know by the weekend if I was going to order a copy and I have enough cash. I'll post on Friday if I've made my mind up.

 Been a while.

Same old excuses though. 

After a while out of the loop this is my first full month back at painting and I've been stuck at work for every day bar one of June so far.

Plan for next month finish the Cenobites Knights squad, and yes I need to find the damn shields again. They are nearly finished, just the scabbards to go and the shields, so if I don't go to Blackpool on Monday I'm hoping to get the minis finished and the shields started. As I'm going through town on my way home regardless of which way I travel, I'm going to pick up some nail varnish remover to clean up the old metal chuck dread with the plan to paint this in the Celebrants colours. 

I think I have everything I need to do this. 

Then it's on to Harlequins with the unmasked Solitaire and an Avatar with power fist and digi weapon. When I've packed the Terminators away I'll get that box out. Oh yes I need to sort out the blade guard veterans back into squads and paint the base rims to match, so a little bit longer with that box in my living room. Going to find the leman russ compensator 6000 and put the plan in place to paint that for the Necromunda 8th with a nice light grey. 

Review time. 

The last couple of bits were finished on these guys, still not found number 6 for this squad. 

I finished the Warrior Prime, I even did some wet blending on the wings, which looks better in photos than I can see on the mini.

The shields got finished for the mixed armour squad. 

I thought I'd get a close up of the old metal captain in Terminator Armour as I like it.

I've had this squad in bits for a year. I was less intimidatied by The Lion. The scabbards and shields are still left to do, but I do like how these came out overall. 

Lastly is the Sargent of the squad. This is more or less there now. 

Monthly Vow.

 First one in nearly a year...

I've not bitten off more than I can chew... I had to much other stuff going on this morning that I didn't get the inner circle companions touched, which means they'll get finished in next months bow. 

The plan for Wednesday this week is assemble the remaining 5 30k cattaphrattii terminators with yesterday's Touring Cars on catch up TV, get the Companions finished and get that company champion painted black. If the champion is done with time to spare I'll start on the green highlights on him and the Terminator captain. Thursday is the grey blending on Warrior Prime with the last of Andor. Beyond that is hard to say as I've not done the rota yet but I do know time is going to be less as someone has left and we now need to cover a full time hours plus 4 sleeps a week. 

Review Time

I'd bought these off a mate last year and had left them in a box as the drive wasn't there. I do like the tiny little guys, and I remember being impressed by them when I bought Space Hulk, but now they look their age. It's going to be fun to put these put beside the Terminators that Valrak is sure are in the Heresy box to see how smol they are. 

Speaking of smol. When I came across the Deathwing expansion Librarian for £13 on ebay, I though "does the seller have brain damage?" quickly followed by checking my bank account and clicking buy. I dug through the combat patrol I'd got knowing I had the new Librarian in Terminator Armour there and got that together and painted alongside the old guy. 

I got all 3 of these built and base coated, okay the champion I was going to go bone with but then chose a different way. 

The captain needs something to stand on so I'm looking for guard /gene stealer cult to use for this. 

And lastly there's the Tartarus Sgt for the Space Hulk squad. The other bolter arm was for a different Tartarus Terminator who'd originally had the plasma blast gun the Sgt now has, in game terms it'll be a combine plasma or just straight up say storm bolter. 

This is so, so close to done, another month and I'm back to waiting for GW to release the assault terminators box to have them finished, who's wants to bet which comes first, the Heresy box or the Assault terminators? 

Monthly Vow 12th Of July To The 12th Of August

 Finally worked out why I'm in a hobby slump.

I've finished my main army, I've got 5 companies of Astartes, 10th, a Primaris company, a first born company,the 2nd and 1st companies. I'm waiting for the assault terminators to drop and that's it.

It's like the new addition malaise where you can't make a plan because you have no idea what's next.

So next month I'm planning on finishing the 2 30k officers and the 30k cataphracttii. I'm not sure what comes next. At some point in August the Combat Patrol series starts, not sure at what point the ones I'm focusing on, the Guard and Genestealer cult, are getting their release and the Chaos, World Eaters, and Marines are being sent to Japan.

Review time. 

Corswain was finished and that's it really. 

Monthly Vow 12th Of June To The 12th Of July

 I know I've missed my targets this month and I'm overdue with this post as it is. My cat had to be put to sleep and he hadn't been well for a while which took a lot of my time and then it was new season of Destiny 2 and work.

Targets for the coming month. 

The 30k Dark Angel specific Terminators and Corswain arrived

I got the 2 Cataphracttii and Corswain built and the squad of Cenobites cleaned up, I just need to buy some primer to get started, but again with the cost of the cats treatment I was being frugal and after payday and the operation I didn't want to be spraying paint with an open wound, so plan A is to get off the bus a few stops early on Tuesday and drop into Halford for some plastic primer, get out in the shed and get these primed. 

There's also the second box of Inner Circle Companions that I've not touched yet, as well at least one of the Blood Angels Contemptor dreads as the contest this month is something red.

Review Time. 

I think this is 2 months really but I didn't go in to detail last time. 

I had to dig out an old Cypher mini that was just gathering dust, took the power pack off it, the shoulder pad and cut the plasma pistol off and the bottom of the scabbard. 

I cut the bolt pistol off the arm that goes on the standard barber and replaced that with the plasma pistol, filed the scabbard down but could probably have done a bit more than I did. I also used one of the rounded profile files on the left  shoulder pad so that would sit better. I spent some time going through bits looking for a left handed primaris sized bolt pistol. Eventually finding one on the assault intercessor sprue that had come with the last Hattchet collection. I cut the magazine off worked that area with a file to give a recess, ordered the flexi bullet belts from Zinge Industries and cut a small selection of bullets off and glued them in place. I'm thinking of doing this when I get around to the assault Marines with jump packs.

 I finished it off by picking out the angel on the scabbard's robe and wings and giving the armour the green highlights.

I defeated The Witness in the Final Shape, said goodbye to Cayde 6 again and got 5 minutes on the Hull of the Helm. I did it with all 3 characters but my Hunter was first as that's my main character. 

As well as a bit more baking. 

Monthly Vow 12th Of April To The 12th Of May

 It's the 16th today so rather late for the monthly Vow post. I did actually reach my goal this month, and a bit more. 

So for this month I'm planning on getting a bit more of the Björn chaos conversions done as well as both boxes of the Inner Circle. I'm thinking of doing another Ezikael Primaris with one of those that come in the box and fingers crossed the metal version is still available, and maybe box of inner circle to make the squad up to 6 and have the standard, Ezikael and perhaps make one into a Celebrants captain, as I'd like to push myself on that. I just need to find the contrast paints and orange wash. There is a thought to buy the Forge World Dark Angels Terminator stuff, which is a buying plan for May when my last bill goes out before the next payday and I know how much liquid cash I have left, I am also looking sideways at a new ps5 as I think that's close but there is a household repair that needs to be done first.

Monthly Vow 1st of January To The 12th Of Feb

 

The long one, I just forgot to get a pic of the ATV to add to this. Okay hands up honest time I've been kind of distracted by wondering what's coming and what to do with The Lion's Blades, now I've got a couple of things in place and a good idea of where to go and my 2nd Company is nearly at its target and that blue sky dreamer target of 100 Terminators is within reach.

Target for this month. 

Terminators! 10 more on the sprue to build as I'm currently on the way with the Deathwing Knights, see the next post in a couple of hours. There are also 3 more bikes in the shed that have been sprayed black and waiting for a gap in that line. 

Review Time. 

The bikes from the spear head box got made and painted as well as the ATV that is on pause while I get the Deathwing Knights finished.

There was a break while I waited for the Deathwing Assault box and was getting myself ready.

Beliel 

I primed the whole box.

The Beliel was a pleasure to build and paint, I went one shade whiter with this guy as it seemed to make sense for the HQ.

Currently working on the Deathwing Knights, with the plan to get them finished today.
