Monthly Vow 12th Of October To The 12th Of November

I'll admit, I got rather hooked on Assassin's Creed Odyssey this month and got carried away. Really carried away added to the wait for the codex lull that left me feeling like there wasn't much need to get a wiggle on with anything.

Orders have been picked up codex has been started to be read, with the necessarity to wait for the Blood Angels codex to see what options that gives me, I can currently take 3 basic dreads, 3 Redemptor Fat Albert Dreads, 3 Balistus and 3 Brutalis dreads, for current HQ I'm taking Astorth The Grim and a Tech marine, putting an order in for the Blood Angels and Dark Angels indexes to give me an idea of what to do next with both Armies. Then plans can be firmed up. Still massively narked that Contemptor dreads got bumped from the main codex.

Target for next month get the Terminator squad and and Chaplain done, start the Redemptor Brutalis dreads and fingers crossed start the Contemptor dreads as well.

Review Time

Lord Bin Face

A comedy political character, the mini was bought because it was most of the money raised is going to charity.

Thanos was a Father's Day present from my kids. I got to build this one while I was spending the day working from hospital.

Lastly The Brutalis Dreadnought

It's not entirely finished as chapter markings aren't done yet, I'm hoping there are transfers in the box to spare.

Brutalis Dreadnought

Getting back into the swing of painting of painting with the new head set.

I gave the red bits a coat of evil sunz scarlet, and trim got done with gold, I had to check what colours the 8th Assault Company was and found it was green and the 2 drops. So I'm planning on getting this finished tonight.

Pre Orders For 10th.

After the last couple of battery head sets had the led light die after a battery change, I stepped up and bought a rechargeable one. Let's see how long this one lasts.

I have made a pre order from my local 3rd party store. I put an order in for the Chaplain in Terminator Armour, a box of the new Terminators, both for the Dark Angels, and 2 of the Brutalis Dreadnoughts for the Blood Angels Dreadnought army. As I'm off the weekend of the 14th I'll be going up to Preston to pick them up on the day.

As I have the new head set I'll be getting back to painting, I hope to get the first of the Brutalis Dreads done this week around work.

Monthly Vow 12th Of September To The 12th Of October.

Heavy month regards the real world since August, kids moving out, house upside down and record temperatures in September which I wasn't keen on painting in and I was focused on Assassin's Creed Odyssey... I'm still not happy about having to go and kill a Cyclops.

So yes we'll my objectives were met as I did start the Blood Angels Dreadnoughts army but only with 1 so far.

Targets for next month.

More Dreadnoughts!

Review Time.

Tank Girl Helmet

The youngest is a major Tank Girl fan so I found a helmet and painted it for her for her birthday. There are a couple of things to do still, the goggles arrived as has the rubber throwing star that I need to magnetise to the helmet. I also need to find the magnets to do that.

I also saw a miniature of Count Binface that I picked up as all profits go to the NHS.

The undersuit is black with layers of padding in shades of grey.

I also made a start on the Brutalis Dreadnought, as well as getting the plan for the Dreadnought army bases sorted, it's the vallejo desert sand with a seraphim sepia wash. The Brutalis Dreadnought had a base coat of Mephisto red, they'll be a layer of evil sunz scarlet and wild rider red highlight with the lighter wild rider as a last highlight, now it's cooler and I've uncovered most of the map for Odyssey.

Brutalis Dreadnought and Lord Binface

This is the vallejo desert sand I'm using for the bases of the Dreadnought army I'm using a Serpihim sepia wash on this as the agrax earthshade wash left it to dark.

Which looks okay I think need to get the yeril yellow out for High lights.

Made a start on the Brutalis Dreadnought for the Blood Angels army, so far it's had a Mephiston red base coat. Tomorrow's plan is for an agrax earthshade wash when I get in with a evil sunz scarlet layer and then the 2 shades of wild rider red as edge high lights. There are also gold and black details and as this is a close support unit there will be some yellow detailing on some of the inserts on those armour plates.

Lastly for this weekend we have Count Binface our evil overlord. I can provide a link to his manifesto for the London mayoral election if you want to see how evil he is.

Monthly Vow August The 12th to September The 12th

Hit my target!

Everything I listed for this month has been achieved, I admit the Infernus Squad aren't 100% done but as I seriously doubt I'll be using them at any time soon, I'm okay with not doing the belts and pouches. The reason I'm doing this post early is because my kids are moving out and this coffee table is going with them, so it needs clearing.

Target for September.
Start on the Dreadnoughts for the Blood Angels I think is first and I'll be able to keep that box downstairs while I work out of it and see how far I can get with that

Review Time.

The first thing was the orange to red blending on a free intercessor the Bolton GW store let me have to practice that blending technique.

Next up was the reason for the advice, and yet another reason I'm going to look an idot if I'm wrong about Beliel getting an update, the Leviathan box Terminator Captain.
Honestly I'm really happy with how this has come out.

Those Leviathan Terminators got finished, and takes my 1st Company back to 99 as I retire one of the scratch builds.

The Sternguard Squad are finished but I don't seem to have any photos of the squad.

There we are, found the completed photo of the Sternguard Squad, plan A is these are an upgrade to a Company Veteran Squad.

The Apothecary was painted at the same time as the Sternguard Squad, there's a better photo later, possibly with the textured base done..

I used Phobos Lieutenant as a practice piece for the Dreadnoughts with the Baal Red contrast paint.

So this guy, the Ballistus Redemptor Dreadnought, this is an easy build kit and has the best shoulder joints to date on these dreads. The legs and hips are much better than the full kit, I really do prefer this kit over the full kit.

The Librarian, again these push fit kits are a step up from the Indomitus box.

Here's a selection of photos of the completed minis posing with the Screaming Killer.

I finished this one off with a coat of Baal Red contrast and an Agrax Earthshade wash.

The Infernus Squad is done, even though it isn't finished, I don't think currently that I'm going to use this squad as it is .

So from Sunday I'll have the house to myself and a new set up, they'll be a few upgrades going forward, at this time I'm keeping the desk, I'm looking at led lights for that corner of the room, the second of the old sofas is going to get replaced with a chair and an office chair for working at the desk but that's some time off yet.
