You know you can rely on me to totally ignore the latest big release of the weekend and once again I don't touch on those lovely looking, ginormus, "minitures".
I pulled the bits box out and found a las gun to fit on the Medic Girl, I found my green and painted the helmet and first aid bag, still need to give her a nuln oil wash and touch up. I also dug out the old leader of my Corsair Band to remind me of what colours come next, I've dry brushed the coat with white and will be giving the pants, boots and hat another coat of sepia, the boots will be black with dry brushing of Ice Blue and will do hair black with a wash of Nihilakh Oxide to see how that works, the Saint will get striped, thrown in with the Venerable Dreadnought when that gets here. I'll give her a coat of black and an Oxide wash as well just to see how it looks.
Also yesterday I dug out some heavy weapons to go onto the Saber to give it full weapons options for a Razorback. Just need to paint them up and find a place to store all them guns, most likely those will go in the back of one of the modern Rhinos. Need to go buying a couple of things on ebay that are ending today.

Saint, Medic and Pirate Lady.
Most of my time today has been taken up with building a conversion of the old Tony Cottrill built Saber tank that used the bits left over when you made the Spartan. I did give The Saint another dry brush and Esme got a Seraphim Sepia wash, will need to dig my Corsairs out to remind me of the colours. I also got my youngest to dig out some of her Tank Girl Graphic Novels so I can copy the helmet.

The Saint Celestine And Boobs.
So I added a tiny bit of dry brushing to my dead space bird for effect. I also started the Medic for my Guard/AM army, it was a shame to cut the M4 off but not that much I'll be adding either a las pistol or las gun after I check the options in the current Codex.

Twice In One Day?
Having money in my bank at this point so late in the month is bad, I'm a weak, weak person and even though the Eldar Corsair project is now firmly 2nd or 3rd on my "to do" list I went onto Black Scorpion Miniatures today and I couldn't stop myself I just couldn't, when I saw these 2 I just had to buy them...
I intend to use this as the Corsair Princess in my Eldar Corsair Army when I get round to that of course, I have the 40 odd Knights Of Blood to paint first and bikes to finish off, super heavies to finish and other bits and pieces, but yes, she'll be my new leader.
This is going to be my Medic in my Guard army when I start to expand on them.

WIP Since July 25th
So with the, franking, amazing weather we've been enjoying in my little corner of England the last few weeks (I have a better tan now than when I got back from Spain) and a very good friend of mine dragging me out to put some more miles in on my push bike, I've not really been in much to get any hobby work done also I've been waiting on a shipment of magnets from Hong Kong and it's a 5 week month so money is being budgeted carefully and with Space Marine coming at the end of this month as well and a birthday and my work place pension kicking I'm not in a great place to be buying schtuff right now and my mind is on other things.
So this is the first squad of the 72nd Shadow Highlanders in full, clean colours, of note is the comms guy with a blue helmet, not to sure if I'm doing this to show scavved gear or just a specialist trooper.
This is the same unit with the nuln oil wash applied and one of my Deathwing Knights in the background for scale.
So when the magnets arrived I put them to use by magnetising the weapons on the Land Speeders, I'd been talking to someone on Facebook and they'd mentioned that the Maori soldiers used to scaving German machine guns as they perfered the noise that they made when fired over the British guns and I thought well why is the Assault cannon always chin mounted? Surely the Tech Marines would have worked out how to swop the weapons around if the pilot and gunner wanted them like that. Luckly I had the Assault Cannon from my Bjorn Conversion that I gave to a mate so I added a magnet to the gunners side and another under the chin of the Speeder and on to the top of the Heavy Bolter before I started on the Typhoon.
The Typhoon Missile pods are mounted in an underslung position as I think that they look better down there. have yet to get them painted and sitting right as I need to do some more green stuffing on the pods and struts to get it right
And lastly we have the Deathwing Knights project up to 97.5% completion, come on payday so I can order those bloody Forge World Deathwing Paldrons. I've magnetised all the arms( oooh they rotate was one comment last night when I played with them for the first time) and green stuffed the joints to hide the magnets, when I start to paint these sections I think they'll just be in black. So by mid September I should have this unit finished as well as the Land Speeders and my 2nd squad of Guard as well as the new Marine Codex.
Future projects are a squad swop with the Missile Launchers as the The Glorious 1000 has the Space Crusade Missile Launchers and The Lions Blades have the current Missile Launchers, after that I'm hanging fire on anything till after the Marine Codex comes out, I might just be buying the AA tank but so far nothing else is stnading out to me from the leaks

72nd Shadow Highland Rifles
So have finially got around to starting doing the Guard block for Y Geiriadur. These units are from the 72nd Shadow Highland Rifles, the above squad is the first one I've started to paint, a world that had fallen through the cracks in the Administratum and hadne't had any contact from The Imperium for over 1800 years when from out of The Black a small trader found a badly damaged Marine warship, sending out a hail they got a tug to bring the ship in system, and started trying to hail the Marine vessel to let them know they where going to tow them back in system. The Marines themselves where rather unforthcoming on where they had come from, asking first what the year was and would only refer to themselves as Y Geiriadur. Y Geiriadur took it upon themselves to train the local army units to a higher standard and improved their weapons as well. Currently Shadow has sent a probe ship out into The Black trying to regain contact with the wider Imperium.
