Monthly Vow May 12th to June 12th

Crap it's that time of the month again , on the plus side of that I did get paid.
Woot! I actually fulfilled the vow for this month with a little extra.

The 4 Veteran Squads for the Victrix Guard Formation, midly narked that formations got nixed for 8th.

The 10 Sons of Dorn Honour Guard to show Unity amongst the Chapters of Dorn and Gulliman (strangely my phone auto corrects that to gullible. . . )

I know I did those last month but it's Girlyman's heralds

And lastly Captain Cato Sicarus of The Smurfs.
So next month I had planned to get the Grey Knights for their formation, but fell out with that idea with 8th.
So looking at the Bane blade kit or at least sprues for guns for the Titan and maybe rebuild the Poxy Proxy Bane Hammer with the left overs, if I get the full kit.
Literally just bought some heavy weapons teams for the 72nd Shadow Highlanders.
Sorry Bohemian Rapsody is on, and now The Kill by 30 Second To Mars.
So yes 5 Heavy weapon teams looking at an officer as well, and will get the Necron Knight out as well and get some more done on that.

Victrix Guard Formation

Finished the Formation! I had no plan to build the GK one as I would have to get the Codex but with the new rules incoming I might just add 4 squads of GK for next month's Vow.

Excoriator And Emperor’s Warbringer

Painted these 2 tonight.

Excoriators not really came across these before.


Emperor’s Warbringers another chapter that I hadn't come across before but both are Sons of Dorn, not sure if I missed the ret con but a lot of the background to these Chapters that have them being Second Founding Chapters, I was aware that there were 3 Chapters that came from the Imperial Fist Legion, Fist themselves, BT and Crimson Fist as, being front line defenders of the palace they'd suffered significant amounts of casualties.

Black Templar For The Honour Guard

I started off with the Emperor’s Champion and added a Knight's sword.
Black paint job, with a gloss nuln oil wash and dry drush bone then white in the robes.


For tonight I'm planning on painting 2 more marines one for the Emperor’s Warbringers and the other for the Ex something or other.

Howling Griffins Part 4

While some of you have been working/enjoying Salute, I've been working and painting, finally finished the Howling Griffins Stern Guard Squad. 4 days and I'm also too scared to try free handing the griffin.
Yesterday I'd done the yellow, so tonight I tackled the red.

Base of Wazdakka red and then nuln oil wash and a dry brush of Evil Sunz Scarlet later.


Learned the lesson of not going and doing free hand when my eyes don't want to stay open, so will come back to these later.

I'd forgotten to do the body, pack and head of this guy yesterday.

Started the bone on the bodies and arms and heads.

And then half yellow on all the bits.
I've worked on the weapons for the Honour Guard after I'd finished the painting.

Leg Day

For a laugh, can you spot Kharn the Betrayer?

Don't skip it. I'd started out tonight to just get the legs done for the Howling Griffins, but I managed to get the legs done for the Carmine Blades and the 4 extra Honour Guard I'm painting.
All legs got base coated, using Ushabati bone as a base for yellow on the Griffins, an Imperial Fist and a Celestial Lion, I'm also doing a Crimson Fist and a Troll of the Ultramarines, sorry a Hammer Of Dorn. I'm looking at an Emperor's Champion for a Black Templar.

I gave them all a wash as well before packing up for the night.
And now for something completely different, came across this on twitter and ran it through Prisma.
