Mcfarlane Toy Sister Of Battle

Had a blast with this one, I surprised myself by how much I really enjoyed painting it up. Fingers crossed there is a Dreadnought one day.

Got it wrapped up now and will be taking it into work on Monday, so it's there for her birthday.

Big Girl

One of my clients has her birthday next week, and as a present (technically, as I'm putting the receipt in when I get to work later), I bought her the artists proof Sister of Battle to paint up for her. After a quiz of staff that know her better than I do about what colours to use, and based on what I have available, ended up using purple for the armour and pink for cloth and the gloves

I did the skulls in ushabati bone base coat, with the seraphim sepia and screaming skull dry brush.

  • As I get ready to go to work now, this is the stage I'm at, the gold has had a reikland flesh wash and the belts have the first wash of agrax earthshade. I'm planning to get the gold finished Friday before I go to work, as well as the grenades and bolter, so I can wrap it up and drop it off to work before her birthday. And if I get it done before Sunday I can add it to one of my groups painting challenge.

Jet Girl And Harris

Was doing a bit of house keeping and realised I needed to at least start building these guys. May or may not have been influenced by the propaganda broadcasts of the Assault Astartes with the jump packs, chain sword and pistols. Upgrades will be a bolt pistol each and keep the auto pistol as a back up weapon.

After a read through of Tank Girl characters, there is Tank Girl, Jet Girl, Sub Girl and Boat Girl which means that I need to build both Sub Girl, Boat Girl and a GW safe version of Tank Girl

Bruce And Hound

Finished off the Cyber mastiff that I'm no where near buying in game yet.

My main focus for this week is to get a read through of the rule book this week.

Finished Stuff

I finished the sword on the Cannoness.

As well as touching up the shoulder on Jet Girl, and after a quick look at the Tank Girl Wikipedia page, the I found there is another friend of, called Sub Girl, who has been named as Subrina, Jet Girl hasn't been given a name that I could find.

Lastly I got Bruce finished, along with her Enforcer Bolter. Bruce is the replacement for Sheila, as he died in the first campaign game and I need some more ranged weapons in there, and this is the first of these.

Monthly Vow 12th Of July to the 12th of August

The plan for the coming month is finish the Cannoness and Severalan, get a GW store safe version of Tank Girl and Jet Girl. There's the Morvenn Nundamn and I'm not sure if I'm going to upgrade at least one of the Patrolman to give them a shield to provid mobile cover for a group. Anymore of the Sisters of Battle will be done as well.

Review Time

The first thing done while recovering from Covid was the Cannoness

I started painting this on sprue, and still need to finish the sword, and still need to stick it on the base.

These arrived during the month, not sure if the GW versions of the leaders will be from this box or the champions.

I was browsing the We Print Miniatures site and having got Tank Girl already, I saw the Future War Mechanic that looks close to how Tank Girl's friend Jet Girl is and so I picked this one up. Just need to touch up a couple of things/spots on the shoulder and this one is done.

I started the Victoria Miniatures Ukraine pilot and dog, using the agrax earthshade leather process on the flying helmet, straps, gloves, holster and mask. The flight suit was done following the Space Wolf Primaris Intercessors guide on the GW painting app. Half the helmet is blue, the other half is yellow. The visor had a coat of black and then a layer of dark angel green and a highlight of the lighter shade. The map pockets have been free handed. The dog had an agrax earthshade wash, which looks okay the scarf is Mephisto red and the goggles are black and have the same green as the helmet visor.

Lastly the Forge World Serverlan got the coat and boots done. I've brought the book with me today so I can check the weapons for something with more range so this one can hit at more than 12 inches... Also got the first game in the in the Necromunda campaign and Sheila died, so Bruce here is going to replace him as Captain, with a range build rather than a close in build.

Sunday Was A Busy Day

I got Jet Girl on her base, there's a bit of a touch up needed on her shoulder but that's about it for this one, the next step is to build a version of these 2 in GW minis.

I started doing the leather bits on both the pilot and Serverlan, her coat and boots and the flying hat, straps and boots on the pilot. The pilots fight suit had a base coat of The Fang. I got home this morning, gave myself a hair cut and did a layer of Russ and Fenris grey and the fur trim with palid wytch flesh and the skin on the arm and face a Reikland flesh wash. Still need to do the base and the dog, as well as her map pockets and various buckles to do.

Hope to get this finished today, even if she is looking a bit like my ex...

And lastly Serverlan and her cyber Hound. We kicked off the Necromunda campaign last week and in a stunning run of luck, in the first game my patrol leader has died. Handily this was already on its way, which means Bruce here will be replacing Sheila as the Patrol Leader. I'll be giving her something with range so that she can hit from more than 12 inches away.

This Week's Stuff

Got a few bits that arrived Tuesday that I'd bought second hand, the Morvenn Vahl, Severalan and Cyber Hound and the Orlocks Veterans, the last one is mostly to make Tank Girl and Jet Girl that I can use in GW stores. I've also got the Victoria Miniatures Ukraine mini, the pilot and dog.

One of my Facebook groups has a monthly challenge, this months challenge is a miniature in a different scale than you normally paint, as this is a true 28mm I'm thinking of entering it in that challenge.

Serverlan and the cyber Hound have been put together, I dropped the unhelmeted head on the floor and bounced into the Warp, so I'm using the helmet options. The Hound goes together lovely, the head was a really well worked two pieces. I'm thinking of doing the coat in the agrax earthshade leather process, so the plan will be get both in ushabati bone as the pilot has a few bits that I want to do in a leather look.

Number One Mechanic

Not had much time this week to do anything. Which means little bits here and there.

I got the yellow on the shirt done, inspired by the Jet Girl Special Tank Girl cover.

I kind of wish they'd given her the hat.
