Costing Stuff The 2019 Version

I worked out the odds of this being a good idea or being something REALLY stupid, and went ahead and did it anyway.
I've found that while I can't paint anything I've had masses of time on my hands the past few nights, so I've taken the Field Manual in and worked out some points cost for a few of my armies, firstly The Lion's Blades, this does include The 1st Company, 2nd Company, 3rd Company of old marines, 5th Company for the Primaris Astartes, the Vanguard Company, the Scouts, the tanks and the dreadnaughts. All in this lot was coming in at 17,686, with half a 3 squads of Intercessors, 1 squad of Hellblasters and a squad of Inceptors to paint, there are various character minis that I need to add as well as I'm not sure of what is on the box. The Vanguard now have 2 Lieutenants, one Reiver, the other Phobos, I just need to stripe and rebased the Reiver Lt.
Using the new plastic version as Björn I've got 966 points here. I'm thinking of giving the Wolf scout version a Reiver squad or a wolf guard squad to give me a totally stupid 1000 point force, if I go Reivers I don't need to buy I can re paint 4 of The Emperor’s Loyal Hounds Of War for this.
And this crazy idea is sitting at 2089, there are a couple of changes to be done to this army on parade 2020 board to be done. After Armies on Parade the Night Lords dread is going to be repainted for the Lion's Blades and the magnetised mortis arm is going on probably the Raven Guard dread and that's going to also be re painted for The Lion's Blades. So what's left? The Masque of the Breaking Dawn and the Ordo Astartes strike force. I have the Harlequins army listed already just need to update the points costs and I have to see what the Strike Force has before I can commit to costing them, so that one could be the new year before I get around to it.

Dread Tober

I don't have a problem, everything is stored safely. 78 on the table with one next door that I need to pick up and a disassembled World Eaters Contemptor that's part of next year's project make 80 and the 8 Eldar dreads that I definitely can't fit on the table anymore makes 88 dreads in total. Will be getting the break down photos on the 31st by faction and then the way that makes sense to me.

Salamanders

This picture is the first time the Salamanders get a mention in the game, this is their original colour scheme and chapter badge, changed quite a bit since the then...
And here's a slighty bigger/better pic of it, without the name cut off at the bottom

The Badab War

Another post from the Compendium today, this is the orginal articla from White Dwarf that first featured the Tyrant Huron Blackheart, as you can see some changes have been made in what is and isn't acceptable when it comes to painting your Space Marines, like DP pattening on hte armour on certain suits, the Red Scorpions Purest Squad and the one at the bottom that I managed to cut the name off( don't worry I will post shortly with that one...)

As you can see some of the old Chapters are still going strong today and this also explaines why The Red Corsairs attack the Chapter Fortress of the Nova Marines.

First time for the Infinity Circuit

This is the first time the Infinity Cirtuit gets a mention with the Spirit Warrior and the Ghost Warrior. You used to get teh Ghost Warrior in the blister pack for the Spirit Warrior. I did have one of these but I left it at home when I moved out along with most of the rest of my 40k stuff and my mother bined it all when she movec in with her new husband. She kept all the Star Wars stuff, broken used and painted as it was because in her mind Star Wars toys are worth something.

She's never forgiven me for painting the ATST up...

Eldar Dreadnoughts

These 2 are the eldar Dreadnoughts from first edition as you can see design wise not a great deal has changed, apart from them loosing hte shoulder weapon mount.

Old School Dreadnoughts

Above us is a picture of the orginal coloured page from the old Compendium showing eldar, Imperial(note Imperial not Marine) and Ork Dreadnoughts. Not Wraithlords, not Kill Kans, and Imperial Army Dreadnoughts. This was a first edition ruling and allowed for a much wider use of the Dreadnoughts. Major down side of this was that you got what came in the blister pack not what you wanted. The next 2 pictures are of the old Imperial Dreadnoughts, Chuck, Eddy and Fury. As I stated recently, and menationed them in a post, i couldn't remember what their full titles where so I photoed the pages from the Compendium and have put them up here for all to see. At the time of Rouge Trader you could field an Imperial Guard Army with Dreadnoughts a Rouge Trader contingent or a Marine army, but over the years the other 2 have been retconed out in sucessive editions of the game leaving only the Marine Dreadnoughts we know today.

The Ghost Warriors do actaully make it into the Compendium and I'll post those up next week, but they look a bit different than they do now.
