December 31st Again! 2015 This Time

Another year nearly over and where are we up to? Well I've topped over 760 posts on here now, which shows a willingness to tackle long term projects...
So hobby wise where am I?

My DA, Harlequins and Exodites have all expanded this year, as have The Knights Of Blood project but I don't have a big photo of that.
So what is next for me? Well I really need to do some repairs to my house after that rather nasty storm we had over Northern England over Christmas Day and Boxing Day, a months worth of rain in 9 hours after a month of rain with 4 major storms thrown in for flavour, but we can work around that.
In January I've arranged a game down at Warhammer World,

hopefully I'll have enough spare cash to pick up a Dark Eldar Reaper from Forge World while we are down there to fill out the Heavy Support Choice for the First Masque. On the Harlequins I think this year will mostly be their year again, buying will be limited as I'm saving for a trip to China next Christmas to see my oldest daughter,

I can see just Voidweavers and Skyweavers being bought and I need lots of both, beyond those basics I intend to add 3 Tantalos for the First Masque, but those are quite a ways off yet. I'm just trying to find the last couple of Jes Goodwin Harlequins I'm currently missing to fill out The League Of Shadows and The Crimson Kings Guard.

The Exodites are fairly complete buying wise, I'm just after something to use as Banshees, some Fire Dragons, (I'm thinking of seeing how the Eldar Fusion Gun looks on the Dark Shards/Corsairs as those guys are fairly cheap) and Warp Spiders and then painting and filling out other areas of that army, again I'm thinking of the Forge World Carmine Dragon with Elspeth Von Dracon as a Hemlock and then thinking of where to go from there really. I have a Wraithseer and Spirit Warrior in my project box and a Waywatcher that I'm going to paint in line with the Rangers I have already.

The Lion's Blades well I now have 3 Land Raiders so I think that I'll be looking on Ebay for cheap Vindicators and Whirlwinds to round out 2 more Hammer Of Caliban Formations, I do plan to get both a Forge World variant Vindicate and Whirlwind for these 2 as lead tanks. Bike wise plan A is 3 more to fill 3 Ravenwing squadrons, some Black Knights, fill out a Silence Squadron, which is a Dark Talon and 2 Nephilim and maybe 3 more Land Speeder to fill out a Support Squadron and, most likely not this year unless I get lucky on ebay, a Javelin Land Speeder for a counts as Sableclaw.
For The Knights Of Blood I plan a painting blitz for them at some point when I get through January and February, and to see if I can get the Marine Codex and Blood Angel Codex to start a solid plan.

I don't intend to re paint the Storm Talon from The Glorious 1000 colours, I'll just come up with a bit of background that explains why they'll be the odd bit of kit or marine, that will be orange and bone in this army, look put for the re-painted Land Speeder Storm this year

Cypher mass

Borrowed these pictures from the Dark Angels group, the Cypher diorama was made by Gearóid Ó Murchadha,

You better watch out if Cypher comes to town, you'd better not be on his naughty list.

He's coming for you.

So what is Cypher Claws slipping under your tree?

THE FORGE WORLD CHRISTMAS JIGSAW!

It’s that special time of year. No, not the season to be jolly, it’s Christmas Jigsaw time! For the next few days we’ll be teasing you mercilessly by slowly revealing something that’s coming soon from Forge World... very soon! Take a look, can you guess what it is?

Any ideas? No prizes for ‘A Space Marine’, but good try. Don’t worry, tomorrow’s pieces will be much more revealing.
Last weekend we released the Red Scorpions Vanguard Veterans Upgrade Set. It’s a great set that lets you upgrade resin or plastic Space Marines to Red Scorpion Vanguard Veterans and also includes Veteran Sergeant Culln, a legendary battle brother who later rose to be Lord High Commander of the Chapter.A big fan of the Red Scorpions, Phil Stutcinskas from the Forge World Studio has been working on his Red Scorpions army for years. It’s gotten pretty big, and this is just a small part of it.

Why the sudden interest in Red Scorpions? Well, I’ve just heard that the Chapter, and the heroic Carab Culln, will be making a return in 2016 with a new Imperial Armour book! That’s all I’ve got right now, but when I know more you will too.

Christmas Week.

Well it's nearly that time again, I've got all night shifts to do before Christmas and New Year so I might just get the White Walker done by then along side Grandmother Telvig, this is my plan for through to the New Year, I know normally my stuff is packed away by now so I don't mess up Christmas by doing some painting or something else hobby related, but as I need to be awake I'll keep myself busy at work doing something.

Little spoiler for the New Year Post.
So may I take a moment of your time to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and please spare a moment to think of all the people that are working over the Christmas period.

Mk1 Spartan Unboxing.

The best bit about Oldhammer; taking it out of the packaging.

This is the mk1 Spartan I got off ebay, the seller has even included magnets for the las cannons.

And I'll replace the plasma las razorback turret with the heavy bolter turret i already have.

Just have to wrap it back up because it's my Christmas present from my dad.

Monthly Vow November to December

So this month I find time has been in very short supply.

I have got the last 2 full Troupe painted up, The Wyld Ones and The Wild Cards

And done a bit of work on the Skyweavers to get the colours of the first to match up with the latest ones, and I plan to carry this theme on with the rest of the Squadrons.
I'm not planning on stating anything is getting done this month apart from working out what I need to get to finish the Harlequins ground troupe and transports along with Voidweavers and Skyweavers.
There is a plan to paint the Spartan but I'm currently torn between painting it for my DA army or go old school and paint it up for the Harlequins.

Like this old image.
So nothing is planned till the 12th of January by me, bits will get done, but not much. I now need to go and look up how to use that gorram bbq I put together today...

Not Everything I Build Is 40k

Do you wanna build a barbie? It doesn't come in one piece.

Just in time for the Christmas BBQ I build this today, and I'll tell you what GW's building instructions are several orders better than these guys

Good job I've spent time in fabrication, they are a bit vague.

But I muddled through and only have 2 pocket screws from this build.

Now to check out YouTube to see if there are any videos about how to do the smoking...

Correct me please if I'm wrong but isn't that a new gun on the Leviathan ?
From the post;
THE IRON LEVIATHAN!

Leviathan pattern Siege Dreadnoughts are just awesome! They’re huge and massively destructive, who wouldn’t want one in their collection? This week I caught sight of a new Leviathan in the Forge World Studio painted by Keith Robertson. It’s a perfect addition to an Iron Warriors Legion...

And then you get 2 more t-shirt designs and a brief bit about the 40th Birthday bash on January the 2nd & 3rd.

Oh My God! One Happy Proxy

Who's got 2 thumbs and an awesome dad? THIS GUY! My dad just bought me this mk1 Spartan for Christmas, quiet literally grinning from ear to ear right now! Been after one of these since I firsthand the conversion in WD all those years ago.
So planned to run this as as standard Land Raider with a Hammer of Caliban Formation. Now just need to get 2 more Whirlwind and 2 more Vindicators to polish those 3 off.

Another Trip To WW

Plans are afoot for another trip down to Warhammer World in January, the table is booked, but just we only got a standard table (well 2 pushed together as there are up to 6 of us going as of now). So lesson learned-keep an eye on when the table booking opens and get in quick!
So plan A; We have 3 Eldar armies, one Craftworlds, one DE+Harlequins and my Harlequins, with that in mind and also how long the game took last time with just 3 of us, I've built a story around an alliance of these 3 Eldar armies. After chatting with one of the chaps we'll be playing against he's taking an Inquisition force, one guy hasn't talked about what he is taking ( he only confirmed a couple of weeks ago) and the last guy has a nid army. Armed with this knowledge I started thinking; what would make the Inquisition divert a nid Splinter fleet? One of Vauls fabled 100 swords? So story version A is the Ordo Xeno believe they have uncovered one of the legendary blades forged by Vaul for the War In Haven and to secure this mighty artifact for their own ends they have diverted a Splinter Fleet to a back water Maiden World, the 3 forces of Eldar have been brought together to defend the Maiden World and keep the blade safe. The nids are there for the all you can eat buffet. And if player 6 brings Imperial they are a buffer between the nids and the Inquisitor.

This Week I Have Mostly Been Arguing Online.

Not a productive week at all...
First off was the argument with a chap who was trying to tell me DA had always been green and that all the black armour pictures were just night world camo... He shut up after I pointed out the background piece were it says the Dark Angels explained their new colours.

Black,

Black,

Black,

Black,

Black.
My second shining moment was telling an ebay seller that this

Wasn't the 1st edition Shadowseer but was in fact the 5th ed Shadowseer, and that in fact the first Shadowseer was in fact the old High Warlock.

When will I learn...
