Now Onto 2026

 When I eventually dragged myself out of bed and got my arse downstairs, changed the cat litter and found I had no milk, my morning took a turn for the worse, the ps5's external hard drive had crashed and needed to be reformatted, several games were still downloading when I left.

When I was able to get YouTube up and running with  Dodie play list on in the background, I made a start on the 8 terminators for the wolf pack, there's 8 Space Wolf heads used, and mostly weapons and shoulder pads are mixed from the Space Wolf Terminators, Chaos Terminators and a single standard Terminator sword arm.

I clipped all of the Thunder Hammers and Storm Shield arms out, got the claws on their power fists, before deciding I wanted to see how the Terminator Ancient looks. 

He'd been finished as had the first of the assault terminators when shit went even more side ways with a crisis at work which meant I needed to set off a little earlier than I'd intended. 

So tomorrow I need to finish building these 10, I'm not thinking to start these till I'm on my 3 days off next week or possibly on Tuesday before I start work and make a start on probably the Lion's Blades Terminators as then I can tick a huge life time goal off the list.

Marbas Enters The Fray

I got the shoulder pad and sword finished this evening.

I'm thinking of using this in Wolf Pack, as the Deamon Prince, from a different time line, where some or all of the Dark Angels fell to chaos, where one or more had very good relationship with the Space Wolves. 

Closer

 2026 is off to an early start, with the sword and paldron for Marbas started this morning.

I should absolutely have these 2 bits finished tomorrow night when I get home.

I have an afternoon start on Wednesday so planning to build 18 terminators, okay 15. Or 16 if I throw in the ancient as well. 

Build plan;

5 Chaos terminators +arms for the 3 Space Wolf Terminators. 

10 close assault terminators and ancient, I have plenty of blu tac for all those arms.. 

Back to Marbas. 

Army wise she'll go in the Björn the Betrayer army, one of those that whispered in his ear, there's also a nebulous idea for a story of Björn The Betrayer, Jarl of Khorne. 

And all this on a week I'm getting paid for 49 hours of just sleeping. 

The Early Plan

 The early plan.

Again this is a long month, as I'm going from the point I start painting to the 12th of February, I've glued a couple of bits on the grey Contemptors.

The most annoying thing is I found the fracking bag with the resin knee pads and torso guns for the resin Leviathan dread... Insert Samuel L Jackson quote here. 

I had a route around on my table and eventually found the sword and shoulder pad for Marbas which will be project 1 for 2026, I mean it is just the angle on the pad, trim and sword, so I should have that finished for 5th of January.

Then it's the 10 close assault Terminators for The Lion's Blades and then the 8 Terminators for Björn the Betrayer's Wolf Pack. 

The 3 Blood Angels Contemptors are planned to be done before I build the Björn Brutalis, the Defiler and the Helbrute, there's also the World Eaters Contemptor that I'm thinking of doing as well.

The Terminator Captain, Chaplin and Ancient will be done in February around the Wolf Pack. 

Yearly Review 2025

 I didn't do this last year as I was stuck in the paralysis of waiting for the assault terminators to drop.

The Satanine Terminators are kind of what got me going again and I do have the Terminators box, just wrapped up and waiting for Christmas, as I've waited most of this edition already. 

Goals for 2026.

I've started writing this post on December the 8th as I woke up early. 

The fracking Assault Terminators, I'll do the Wolf Pack Terminators at the same time. 

The Wolves Of Khorne, okay edit here it's now Björn The Betrayer's Khorne Wolf Pack, is the first big project, most of this is already waiting to go in a box downstairs, I bought the current Defiler and now I'm  just waiting for the rumoured new one. The only other buying is the Hatchette Combat patrol issues with the Khorne Berzerkers, which should be after the Genestealer Cult as the magos landed at the weekend. 

The forever delayed Guard army now has a plan, and start with a core of the Guard Combat patrol, the Dorn and Leman Russ are going to look great together. The Genestealer Cult patrol might just get painted in a similar colour scheme, something to do with the Necromunda 8th regiment The Spiders, so I've got 2 more armies, I'm thinking greys so I can get that Leman Russ tank into an army at last. 

There's a Deff Dread and 3 Kill Kans that I'm planning on painting for the Bad Moonz, if the 11th Ed box set is Orks as rumored I might just do them as Bad Moonz to. 

11th edition box set, the Astartes for the Lion's Blades, trade the Orks is plan A or maybe keep them and do a Bad Moonz army... Then wait for the Codeices to update. 

Objectives over 4 quarters ish. 

Up to Easter 

Dark Angels Assault Terminators which completes the Terminator collection until the next gen Cattaphrattii and Tartarus are released. 

Oh yeah, Warhammer World need to get that army ready for March, which is basically list as everything is painted. 

Björn The Betrayer's Khorne Wolf Pack, starting with the 8 Terminators I now have for them, the Wolf pack is what I'll be adding to the Wigan Stores army builder project. 

There's a Björn the Fell handed Redemptor dread, so with the Helbrute and Defiler and 2 Blood Angels Contemptor dreads built, I might make a Dread Filled Month there. 

Easter to Summer

Finish the Wolf Pack and Start The Spiders of Necromunda Guard army, the tank section is already growing after a bath this morning, plan A is to try and find another Riza turret for a Russ tank, as I'm on a bus right now and after I'm finished updating this I'll be checking the GW site to see if there is a plastic Malcador and have tank squadron 1 with the Riza turret Russ and 2 support tanks, the Malcador with 2 Russ support tanks. The second Riza turret will give me the option of running the Malcador and 2 Riza turret Russ tanks and support tanks, the Dorn tank I'm not sure I think I need the Codex to work out a plan for them. Oh yes and the Genestealer Cult. Now I need to find the old Spiders colours. 

Summer to Autumn 

11th edition box set, Deff Dread & Kill Kans, Astartes will be going into the Lion's Blades, if the Valrak rumors of fast attack focused are true I'll need to check my 2nd company box and see what's what, obviously any plans this far out are subject to change 

Maybe a themed armies on parade board 

Winter 

Too far out to plan, there's most of the Eldar combat patrol and a Votan combat patrol in my living room still, but that's a long way off for now.

Some Time in April To May The 12th

I finally worked my mind out of the waiting for the assault terminators to drop pause and cracked on with the Inner Circle Companions, this squad pivoted a bit as the company champion got added, as did the Corswain mini I have. 

I was surprised to find a Deathwing Expansion Librarian on ebay cheap so I bought that and painted along with the combat patrol Librarian. 

The Space Hulk 1st edition Terminators got painted, as I only had 4 I added a spare Tartarus pattern terminator to the squad. 

The Captain from the Combat patrol got a demotion and added to a squad of Deathwing Knights I was working on and The Warrior Prime on the same sprue was painted grey scale to use as an adverery mini in photos. I did some nice wet blending on the wings, just a shame I hate the stance

May The 12th To June The 12th 

After nearly a year waiting I finally finished off the Cenobites, upgrading them to a Deathwing Knights squad by giving them shields, the character minis, the combat patrol captain, an old metal captain and the last of my spare Tartarus marines goy upgraded to the second squad of Deathwing Knights. 

The Prime Warrior was finished as were the Inner Circle Companions 

June The 12th To July The 12th

That was pretty much all of it, I was in work that much. 

July The 12th To August The 12th 

Apart from getting the Satanine box, I mucked around with this guy. 

August The 12th To September The 12th 

The Dark Angels Praetor came back in stock so I grabbed that to finish off my Inner Circle Companions squad of 6. 

Then it was just Björn the fell handed month. The Original Chaos dreadnought version that I've been tinkering with since about 2014 was amazingly finished bar the base, as was the Juggernaut rider, I used another of the new on sprue minis to get the rider painted. Again bar the base this was done 

September The 12th To October The 12th 

I still struggle to believe I actually finished the original chaos dreadnought Björn the fell handed.

I'd bought the space wolf terminators ages ago when they were released and kind just hung on to them with the plan to do all 5 in the pre Heresy Thousand Sons colours as a practice for the Preator in Satanine armour, as the idea hit to do the Khorne army I decided to keep 3 back and add those to the chaos terminator squad I got in combat patrol to make Khornes sacred number of 8 Terminators. 

And of course the World Eaters Mk4 dreadnought, my favourite type of dread.

Then I knocked off 4 more Björn The Fell Handeds. 

October The 12th To November The 12tas a h

I really felt like I didn't get anything done in this month. 

It was more of a starting point than a finished mini month or so it felt. 

I did get 2 of the Satanine Terminators done, one with Lightning Claws and a fist and storm bolter version, and the size comparison showing how small the old guy is compared to the new mini. 

Lord Flash Hart had been around for about a year untouched and only needed painting. 

I got a couple of squad leaders ready to go for the Björn The Betrayer's war band. 

The last thing I started was the big Satanine dread. 

November The 12th To Late December 

A Dread Filled Month. Much fewer than I've managed in the past, but they are all big guys.

In a it's a not too cold and isn't raining move, I got a load of sprues primed black after I've decided to finish for the month. 

The Defiler and Helbrute are in the same box, with the Preator in the same bag, while the Deff Dread and kill kans are in the Primium kit box. Everything is set ish. Now to wait for boxing day and unwrapping presents with my kids.

I Know What I Said.

 Okay, I said I was finished for the year yesterday, and while technically correct, I'm not doing anything till probably after Christmas, I have been in and out to the shed today mostly because the weather has been dry and not too cold.

I took advantage of this rare occurrin event at this time of year to get some stuff primed black, the Defiler, Helbrute and Predator for the Björn The Betrayer's Khorne Wolf Pack and currently in the shed are the Deff Dread and kill kans.

So yes making the start next year a little bit easier.

Plan A for that Kill Kans and Deff Dread is still Bad Moon, just for the challenge with the yellow.

There's a possibility I'll get the Satanine Terminators out in the shed first thing tomorrow morning and crack them off in my odd working week Christmas week. 

Monthly Vow January to February The 12th.

 As I said last month, I'm giving myself a bit of extra time to finish this month and/or get half of what is said I'd do done.

January Plan;

Finish the dreads I didn't get done, finish the Satanine Terminators possibly, paint the Solitaire I have knocking around, definitely. If I get far enough with those, start on the Khorne Greigor Fell Hand War Band, hopefully those rumours of a hunter unit for Chaos will be a bit more solid by then and I can budget for those, as pretty much everything else has been bought, I wrote a wishlist army list and I did put a defiler on it, so do I wait for the new kit or buy the old one? . While unlikely, there is a Fabulous Bill in the To Do pile I can add to this army in a "well he's chaos as well" way.

Review Time. 

The Resin Leviathan Easier To Build Than Plastic Kit. 

Strange head line I know, I'd lost the instructions for the resin version so was matching the bits to images on the plastic instructions. It's so much easier to build. 

Finished the big guy, well almost. 

I just need to find where I left all those blank tilt shields to give this one his heraldry.

The resin Leviathan dread is much easier to build than the plastic, yes the plastic kit is expert but good grief guys. Not everyone has the eyes of a 30 year old any more.

Next up was the Satanine Dread. 

The assembly is a bit fiddly, a couple of bits could have better instructions, like that tiny bit on the legs, those aside I do like how it looks.

The wet blending was fun and next up is Marbas, the 2nd Leviathan and the Chaplin dread. Still annoyed about my coffee though.

Yeah, now it's finished I can see the mistakes I made with assembly, but I do like how well this has turned out.

The Chaplin dread was bought off a mate of mine, it was mostly primed black, I went over that with a mixed base coat of black and Caliban Green and I mucked around with the wings and skull, starting with an ushabati bone base coat and working up from there.

Leviathan 2 was finished with the weapons arms getting the details done.

There are a few differences between the plastic and resin version and I'm unsure if I'm going to get a 3rd version, but I'd go resin over plastic if I did and get a couple of weapon sprues.

3 Things

 4 if you includr setting the points limit for our planned visit to Warhammer World in March next year, 2000 points each of my terminators plus land raiders and my mates Legion Of The Damned against 2x 2000 points of Da Orks, speed freaks on one side and GazSkuls boyz on the other.

5 actually with finding the Brutalis dreads last night. 

The Chaplin dread was finished bar the base, I'm getting up when I finish this post as I need stuff for breakfast and morning will be the only time it's not raining again today, before I go out I'll get the base technical on it, as its for The Lion's Blades astrogranit is option 1.

Those wings are not being glued, just blu taced in place. Nearly finished Marbas, I just need to find the shoulder pad the actual sword I'd intended to use from the Deamon Prince kit, the stand in blade is from a Lord of the Rings Mordor Troll. 

Just the melta cannon and the grav thing to paying for second Leviathan, bit more work than I was thinking... 

Last night as I was looking for the charger cable for my head set I did find some of the dreadnoughts I'd bought for last years planned Blood Angels Dreadnought army that went nowhere, and it turns out I have 4 Brutalis Dreadnoughts so that Brutalis talon of death company Redemptor dreads might still be an option for next year. If I can remember where I put the other dreads. 

Running LongThis Month

 Yesterday was a bit lazier than I intended, on the plus side I got all of Arthur's satchels on my latest play through of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Marbas and the Leviathan both got the wet blending body work done, the Satanine Terminators and Chaplin dread didn't get started. 

Marbas needs the sword finding, flesh areas need a touch up and then it's on with the details.

Leviathan 2 is in need of detailing and the weapons painting. 

I'm planning to get this done on Tuesday, the  Chaplin dread I'll do bits of at the same time as I do the details on Marbas as I'll be doing it the same way.

I'm tempted to leave the Leviathan details until the Satanine Terminators are done as I'm aiming at the same style on all of those.

I also got a run down to Wigan in the morning to pick up the old Defiler I had ordered last weekend, its quite a chunky box, fingers crossed it'll be warm enough to get this sprayed in black. 

It's a Measuring Contest

 I got the biggest mini I know I have out to see how the Satanine Dread sizes up next to it and the Leviathan dread as well for a side by side picture.

I think the molded base gives the Leviathan a few millimetres but take those weapons off and the Leviathan could probably fit under the shoulder mount.

I got a black base coat on the plastic Leviathan tonight with the plan to get the wet blending done on that and Marbas on Saturday.

Yeah, it's a big boy. 

I think I've got the blending done well with the green. 

Now I've finished it, I can spot a couple of problems with the build. 

Those petals on the plasma bombard are a bit fragile and I lost 2 of them during painting, and I had the end the wrong way when I started painting it. 

I would be happy to get another one.

So the 2nd Leviathan and the Chaplin to paint and the Bjorn Brutalis to build, I'm not stopping at the 12th this month, I'm running this Vow to the 20th as I'm off to my dad's for an early Christmas lunch there on the 21st. 

Change To The Last Plan

 It's a big old chonky boy.

I wasted half a cup of coffee as I got the blending done on him. 

Sundays plan is to get the metallic areas done, red details, plasma glow and probably magnets in the elbows after everything else is done. 

I quite like the the big boy. 

As a random upcoming thing in the Combat patrol series I've got the Deff Dread and now the Killa Kans, for completion sakes I'm going to do these and as something different I'm going to paint them for the Bad Moon Clan

Plan A For This Weekend.

 I'm off Friday and Saturday this week, as well as Wednesday, so 3 days off, I need it, I've got a very big task coming up at work.

The fabled Plan A; Friday build the Satanine Dread and get the plastic Leviathan into a paint ready state. Check my paint storage for Abbadon black, zoom up to Wigan if needed & there's time. Base coat 3 dreads and the Terminators, iron warrior on the trim, nuln oil was on the trim. Saturday start on the wet blending Marbas armour, the Satanine Terminators & dread and the Leviathan. Hopefully I can do everything or I'll just overwhelm myself and play Red Dead Redemption 2 for hours while I tell myself I should be painting.

As well as finishing the base off. As I've got the dread box down I got a photo of the old version. I'd also forgotten I had the Deredo dread in there.

It's nice to have this finished and the resin version is really nice to paint. 

Leviathan Dread

 I had fun with this yesterday, I used the wet palette for the first time.

It's not exactly scientific, but 3 blobs of black to 1 blob of Caliban green, then slowly adding more Caliban green as I went along.until it was nearly all Caliban Green, and got the body and legs done at the same time, I forgot to do the actual shoulders though, so had to redo from a near black to green on those after it was finished.

This wet palette should definitely make the Satanine Terminators easier to highlight.

So after I took the ' break' to bake 2 cakes and 18 muffins, I got back to the Leviathan Dread and start looking at magnets in the elbows.

I glued the large magnet in one elbow and then tried it on the quad cannon and it fitted nice and snuggly onto the joint, no magnet needed. Which is nice...

I noticed the bit on the left side were I came to far out with the green, I guess I'm just going to have to either touch up when I do the next Dread or leave the black touch up I put in there. 

Plan for Wednesday, get those cannons finished, add the tilt shield with the coat of arms from the little dread. Get a photo of them both together. 

1st Legion Leviathan

 I've been doing little steps on this all week, I've managed to get a weekend off and plan A is to get wet blending the green highlights on this one with the wet palette.

There's a bit of work on the spot lights and tiny skulls and I was waiting for some magnets for the guns, the weapons elbow are getting a magnet to make it easier to move. Both of these builds are getting this treatment.

This has been a nice mini to paint, this is the Forge World Leviathan, the plastic version is still unpainted. 

Monthly Vow November 12th To The 21st Of December 2025

The run in to Christmas is here, I might actually stretch this one to the weekend before Christmas as I'm off work up to the 21st. The Assault Terminators box has been handed off for Christmas. I've waited this fething long I can wait a bit more. 

I've started writing this post on the 9th of October so plans will be updated up to November the 12th, right now I'm thinking a dread filled month. I have a couple of Leviathan dreads, the Satanine Dread, the World Eaters Contemptor, and a Chaplin Dreadnought. The Satanine dreadnought is a coin toss on if I do it in the Pre Magnus Thousand Sons colours or The Lion's Blades black with green highlights. The Leviathans and Chaplain dreads are for the Lion's Blades, while the World Eaters dread is for the Khorne Björn War Band. That's 3 rather big guys and 2 regular dreads, which I think is plenty. 

Review Time 

I've had this one for about a year or there abouts, but never felt like painting it.

With my work schedule looking like I would be spending most of the month at work I wanted to get some easy wins. 

I made a start on this the same night as I built the Terminators, it got a screaming skull base and layers. Screaming Skull, nuln oil wash, wraithbone and palid wytch flesh make a very nice quick white.

The 12th 

I settled on how I'm doing these 2.

I built the 6 of these, I did them all together because it's really easy to batch build them. 

I also made an outstanding Cambodian dish on the 12th. 

I made one with 2 fists, using the last of the right hand options from the Preator kit and the lightning claws from the Tartarus kit, to go with the prototype squad. 

I'm sending one to my mate for his Legion Of Doom army, which leaves me with 4, and as you get 4 in a box I'm happy to pick up said box and have 2 squads of 4 knocking around. One of next year's objectives can be to get 2 boxes so I've got 2 squads of 6 Satanine Terminators. 

I think I need to talk to the person that does the rota as I've only just got the ushabati bone base coat it this week. 

Got the most of it finished on Saturday after the 4pm finish. 

Got the details done on Sunday. 

Got the squad out for a photo, I need to set aside a period to organise/ fix The Blade Guard Veterans.

The Homage 

Okay so I burned another one on a senseless throwback to the original version of the prototype Terminator. 

I painted the metal one so long ago that ushabati bone and screaming skull had different names and were, literally, different colours. 

I also got some paint on Marbas, Fallen Deamon Prince of the First Legion. 

 

Raketh Flesh on the flesh areas with reikland flesh wash over that, any armour or demonic flesh has been given a coat of black templar, this might just get paused again until I'm highlighting something else with the black and green mix.

I was building the plastic Leviathan on Saturday after picking up the Terminators box for Christmas when I noticed these 2 little detail bits, I was jokingly thinking indicators, I don't think I'm wrong but I'm sure it's pilot status and power system indicator..

I got the body built Saturday night  and the weapons built on Sunday before I left for work, I just failed to get a picture of it.

The resin version was also sub-assembled, both have the same issue that I can see happening, so I left the central cowling off for painting so I can get to the helmet when painting. 

For something a little different I had a few minutes to spare toward the end of my m9nth between work assignments and found myself walking past a Max Spielman, I dropped in to get a couple of photos that I'd edited printed off. 

Both are the backgrounds of the Dreadnought I'm upgrading with said dreadnought removed. Looking forward to using these, now if only I had a sandy game mat.

I've still not put these away as I'm not sure if I'm doing the Satanine Dread in these colours or The Lion's Blades.
