Monthly Vow Time

Yes October is here, with the new month comes a new painting vow. Mine is to get the Dread finished, to paint the Helbrute and to get one of the Raiders painted, add in another 20 Harlequins as well and a busy month has broken out at Casa Del Proxy.
First up the Dread; all weapons I currently have have been magntised, the Legio Heavy Support Squad Auto Cannons have been bought, will check progress on that shortly as have more magnets, I need 2 more heavy bolters butvhave seen the ones I need on ebay, with the Dread being painted it is just a matter of getting weapons maged and painted and part one is completed.
2nd up is the Helbrute, I picked this up yesterday, my local sorting office is trying opening on a Sunday (it's almost like it's the 21st Century or something), and for a snap fit mini I am rather impressed with how it goes together, the long leg is the only big seam that has a gap when fitted. This is the start of a new Chaos army, possibly based around Raven Guard Successor fallen chapter, gone to Chaos but one of the lesser Gods who like Mala fights to stop Chaos whenever and where ever it finds it. The idea for this army comes from the Dark Future novels and Krokodial, Puppet Wars croc helms have been ordered and I'm looking on Scify for Mega Croc films for colouration. Dark Elf bitz may be ordered as well.
Part three is at least 1 DE Raider, that I didn't even start last month. Already made some progress on this guy. Need to paint a Death Jester as well as my Dark Lance gunner. On top of this I'm also doing 20 Harlequins, 10 in green and white checks to match the Mad Hatter and 2 lots of 5, one in black and orange and one in blue and white to show the jet bikers off their machines. The Raider pilots will also match those colours.

Star Trek Attack Wing

Had my first game of Star Trek Attack Wing last night, just using the starter set ships. First game with the quick start rules went well, fun to play and my Vor'Cha destroyed the Galaxy Class. The 2nd game took a different turn, both ships being equally matched, the Vor'Cha just not being able to take the shields down and hurt the Galaxy or the Galaxy not being to damage the Vor'Cha. We called it at 10pm with me winning that one as I'd done one damage to the Galaxy. Yes I will be playing this game again, yes I will be getting more ships looking at B'Rels first and a couple of Romulian ships as well, yes I will be painting them at some point, may go for a combinded fleet, have they released House Duras?
Next time out we'll use the fleet builder rules and see if we can get a winner.

Love This Project

So with all the hours I've put in at work this week, 88.5 hours in total when I finish tomorrow, all I've had the chance to do is find weapons, so far I have 4 Heavy Bolters, 2 AM tank mounted, 2 from Servitors, so far I'm thinking plastics on the lower arm as in the underslung position weight on the magnets will be an issue. I found the second RT Chuck missile lancher which has gone on already, I had to pull a las cannon off one of the Fallern converstions to get both plastic Las Cannons on the lower mounts for the Standard Las Cannon / Missile Launcher Dread, for the Mortis Las I'm still using the RT Chuck Las just on the top arms. I just bought some Auto cannons from Forge World, the Heavy Weapon support squad versions, again these will be magnetised, top 2 on top of the arms, bottom 2 underslung on the lower arms, with 1 spare.

Lot Of Death, Mortis Progess and T'other WIP

So finally got my paws on the Maugan Ra and thought I'd put the family tree up. This Death Jester is I have to say my favourite, I just like the look of him. I believe the model formed the base for the Maugan Ra, which I think if you look closely you can see it. The new Death Jester I think is also based on the old Deaath Jester, the bones on the chest hint at the orginal and the basic stance is there just with a newer Shuriken Cannon. Also the 2 squads of Death Jesters, the first squad is permenat, the 2nd squad is made from Death Jesters that are embedded in the 3 Troupes of the Chorus and the Mimes, rules wise I think I'm going to use them as either Shadow Spectors or DE Scourges, both move fast and pack a punch ala Death Jesters.
Onto the Dread found a missile rack, will be digging the missile pod out to put on proberly the other upper pylon with Las cannons off the razorback for now, later the Auto Cannons. And my back wall that myself and a friend rendered over the werkend.

Forge World Bulletin #35

Forge Worlds Bulletin #35 has gone live with a line up of Knights and a varient Riptide. Also a book that there are few details forecoming about.

Mortis Dreadnought For The Lion's Blades First Company & Todays Other WIP.

Today has had 2 WIPs, the first was the Dreadnought that came from Space Crusade that I have decided to make as Mortis Pattern, as I'd imagine the Deathwing don't get much anti air just for themselves. Plan to buy the Legion Heavy Support Auto Cannons and Las Cannons and I'm looking to pick the missile launcher from a Drop Pod to get one on both arms. I painted this today around mixing render for the back wall in my yard.
